한국 사회 파워엘리트의 사주 특성에 대한 연구 : 정치, 경제, 문화·예술 분야를 중심으로 = A Study of the Characteristics of Four Pillars of Korean Power Elites : Focused on Politics, Economy, and Culture

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 한국 사회의 지배계급이면서 한국사회 형성에 큰 영향력을 행사해온 한국 사회 파워엘리트에 대한 사주특성 분석이다. 사회에 영향력이 크거나 논쟁적인 인물에 대한 개별적인 연구는 산발적으로 진행되어왔다. 지금까지 한국사회 엘리트에 대한 종합적이고 집합적인 연구는 부재하다. 평범한 사람들의 사주도 명리학적으로 의미 있지만 한국사회 엘리트의 사주에 대해서는 그들이 한국사회에 미친 큰 영향 때문에 많은 사람들이 훨씬 더 궁금해하므로 한국사회에서 큰 족적을 남긴 파워엘리트의 사주에 대한 명리학적 분석을 통해 그들의 사주특성, 그리고 사주와 그들의 삶의 관계에 대한 해석을 제시하고자 했다.
분석대상으로 하는 한국 사회 파워엘리트는 구한말부터 20세기까지 활동하며 오늘날 한국사회의 기틀을 형성한 각 분야의 상층부에 위치했던 인물들이다. 한국 사회 파워엘리트를 선정함에 있어서는 객관적인 지표상 영향력 있는 인물들을 추렸다. 정치 분야에서는 대통령, 총리, 주요 정당 간부, 시장 등 정책 결정의 핵심부에 있었던 인물들, 경제 분야에서는 매출액 기준 상위 30위 이내 재벌급 창업자들, 그리고 문화·예술 분야에서는 많은 히트작에 출연한 영화배우들 여러 히트송을 발표한 가수들을 포함하였다. 또한 현재 생존해 있는 인물보다는 작고한 인물들을 중심으로 선정했다. 정치엘리트, 경제엘리트, 문화·예술엘리트를 선별한 이유는 다른 분야의 엘리트들도 중요한 역할을 하였으나 한국 사회가 정치지도자들과 정치 권력에 의해 오늘날 대한민국이라는 국가의 이념과 체제가 형성되었고 한국이 분단되고 극빈한 나라로부터 세계 10위권 내외의 경제 대국이자 선진국으로 발돋움하는 데에는 경제엘리트의 역할이 컸기 때문이다. 또한 문화·예술인들을 분석대상에 포함한 것은 1997년 환란과 경제위기 이후 한국을 대표하는 국가 브랜드는 우리 민족 5천 년 이래 최대사건이자 한국을 문화수신국에서 문화발신국으로 전환시킨 한류이며 앞으로도 한국의 미래는 경쟁력 있는 문화콘텐츠의 지속적 생산에 크게 좌우될 것이기 때문이다.
주된 이론적 분석 방법은 일간과 십이운성 등의 명리 이론을 활용하여 격국론과 형합론을 사용할 것이다. 먼저 격국에 대해서는 이석영의 『사주첩경』에 수록된 「생일대 생월 속견표」에 의거해 1차적으로 정8격과 건록격, 양인격 도합 10격을 사주 분류의 기준으로 삼을 것이다. 이 10개의 격국 중 정관격, 편관격, 정인격, 편인격을 관·인격으로, 식신격, 상관격, 정재격, 편재격을 식·재격으로 통합하고 여기에 건록격과 양인격을 더해 4개의 격국으로 단순화할 것이다. 이렇게 단순화하는 이유는 오행의 상생상극 관계로써 식상과 재성은 일간이 생과 극을 하는 관계로 일간이 주체가 되고, 인성과 관성은 일간이 생과 극을 받는 관계로 일간이 객체가 되기 때문이다. 격국이 10격에서 벗어나는 사주는 기타로 분류할 것이다.
형합에 대해서는 형합, 비형합을 사주 분류 기준으로 삼되 특정 그룹에 속한 사주들이 양자를 함께 가진 경우를 우선시하여 ‘형합우위’, ‘비형합우위’로 분류할 것이다. 이처럼 사주 분류를 격국과 형합 여부 두 가지 기준으로 조합하면 ‘형합우위’의 격국과 ‘비형합우위’의 격국으로 나눌 수 있고 ‘형합우위적’ 격국은 ‘형합적’ 격국, ‘비형합적’ 격국으로 나눌 수 있고, ‘비형합우위적’ 격국도 ‘형합적’ 격국과 ‘비형합적’ 격국으로 나눌 수 있다.
정치 엘리트 17명의 사주 분석 결과 己土와 庚金 일간이 4명으로 가장 많았고 甲木과 戊土, 그리고 壬水가 각 2명씩 있었다. 그리고 丁火, 辛金, 癸水가 각각 1명씩 있었으며 乙木과 丙火는 한 명도 없었다. 그리고 형합적 식·재격 3명, 형합적 관·인격 6명으로 형합이 9명이었고 비형합적 식·재격 4명, 비형합적 관·인격 3명, 비형합적 건록격 1명으로 비형합이 8명이었다. 격국 중심으로 분류하면 관·인격 9명(53%), 식·재격은 7명(41%), 건록격 1명(6%)으로 관·인격이 우위를 차지한다. 10격 분류에 의거한다면, 정치엘리트의 경우 각 그룹 별로 골고루 분포되어 있었으나 다사다난한 사건과 사고가 발생하는 경우는 예외 없이 大·歲運에서 형합의 상황이 발생함을 확인할 수 있었다. 특히 한일합방과 독립운동, 해방과 한국전쟁, 군사 정변과 군부 쿠데타 등 역동적인 한국의 정치사에서 적극적이고 유연하게 대응하고 대처할 수 있는 성향의 정치엘리트가 더욱 주목받고 장기적으로 명예를 누릴 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다.
경제 엘리트 16명의 사주 분석 결과 일간을 살펴보면 甲木 2명, 丙火 2명, 丁火 3명, 戊土 3명, 己土 1명, 庚金 2명, 壬水 2명 등 乙木, 辛金, 癸水를 제외하고는 골고루 분포되어 있었다. 또한 형합적 식·재격 2명, 형합적 관·인격 1명 으로 형합이 3명이었고 비형합적 식·재격 8명, 비형합적 관·인격 5명으로 비형합이 13명이었다. 또한 격국으로 분류하면 총 16명 중 식·재격이 10명(63%) 관·인격은 6명(37%)이었다.
문화·예술엘리트 16명의 사주를 분석한 결과 일간을 살펴보면 乙木 4명, 丙火 1명, 戊土 2명, 己土 2명 庚金 4명, 壬水 1명, 癸水 2명이다. 눈에 띄는 日干이 乙木 4명과 庚金 4명으로 정치엘리트와 경제엘리트에서는 나타나지 않던 乙木 日干이 문화·예술엘리트에서는 가장 많은 日干 중의 하나였고 庚金 日干은 정치엘리트와 문화·예술엘리트에서 골고루 많은 日干 중의 하나였다. 한편, 비형합 식·재격 5명, 비형합 관·인격 4명, 비형합 건록격이 4명, 형합 식·재격 2명, 형합 관·인격 1명으로 역시 식상운이 왔을 때 전문분야로 직업을 가지던가 직업분야에서 인정을 받아 수상경력을 갖는 등의 활약을 하였다. 격국으로 분류하면, 식·재격과 식·재격을 주로 사용하는 건록격의 합은 10명(63%), 관·인격은 5명(31%), 무격 1명(6%)이다. 이상의 분석 결과 문화·예술 분야에서는 식상 역할의 중요성을 다시금 확인할 수 있었고 형합이 이루어지면 각종 다양한 사건과 사고가 발생하는 경우를 확인할 수 있었다.
전체 49명의 사주에서는 刑合을 이룬 경우보다 非刑合인 경우가 더 많았으나 역동적인 한국 정치사의 현장에 있었던 정치 엘리트의 경우 경제 엘리트나 문화·예술 엘리트들보다 刑合을 이룬 경우가 더욱 많았고, 사건과 사고가 발생하는 경우에는 예외없이 刑合이 이루어졌거나 墓庫地의 大·歲運임을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러한 경우 三合활동을 하여 刑合의 불리함을 해소하거나 변화나 변동의 적극적인 활동을 하지 말고 하던 일을 지속적으로 수행하며 지나가는 것이 좋다.
본 연구는 엘리트 집단별로 가급적 많은 사주들을 확보해 집단별 사주 구성의 보편성을 도출하고자 하였으나 현실적 한계로 인하여 사례들을 광범위하게 수집해 분석하지는 못했다. 그러나 집단별 사주 구성의 보편성을 확보하는 데까지는 이르지 못했다 할지라도 경향성을 파악할 수 있는 정도의 유의미성을 갖는 사례 숫자를 포괄했다. 본연구가 갖는 한계로서 사례의 부족이라는 문제는 향후 연구를 통하여 보완하고 발전시켜 일반화의 가능성을 증대하는 방향으로 연구가 진행되기를 바란다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is to analyze the characteristics of Four Pillars(Bazi: 四柱) of Korean power elites who has had much influence on the Korean Society by matching their lives with the Four Pillars of them. Several papers on the Four Pillars of people with a big social influence were published, but a synthesized and comprehensive study of Four Pillars of elite group has never been carried out by now. Many people are more curious to know the Four Pillars of power elites and their lives because of their strong influence on society, though the lives of common people are meaningful and important. Korean power elites to be analyzed in this study are people who has been very active, occupied the upper part of society, and formed the basis of society from the end of Joseon Dynasty to the present.
Power elites of Korea for this study were selected in terms of objective indicators like the status in the government, the ranking of asset in the business field, and the award-winning career in cultural field. For example, they are president, prime minister, high ranking politician of the party, mayor of metropolitan city in the political field, Chaebol-level stock owner in the business field, and actors and singers who won many film prizes and were ranked high in music chart in popular culture field.
Main concepts and theories to be used in this study are the nature of Heavenly Stem(天干), Twelve Steps of Life Cycle(12運星), and the Structure of Four Pillars(格局), and the Punishment(刑) among Earthly Branches and Combination(合) among Heavenly Stems(刑合) in the Four Pillars.
The Structure of Four Pillars are classified into 10 kinds meaning the 8 main structures, the Structure of Geon-rok(建綠格), and the Structure of Yang-yin(陽刃格), which came from the book of 『Sa-Ju-Cheop-Gyeong(四柱捷經)』 written by Yi Seok-yeong. Those 10 Structures are classified into 4 Structures again. ① the Structure of Officer and Resource(官·印格) composed of the Structures of Direct Officer(正官), Indirect Officer(偏官), Direct Resource(正印), and Indirect Resource(偏印), ② the Structure of Eating and Wealth(食·財格) composed of the Structures of Eating God(食神), Hurting Officer(傷官), Direct Wealth(正財), and Indirect Wealth(偏財), ③ the Structure of Geon-rok(建綠格), and ④ the Structure of Yang-yin(陽刃格). The reason for the simplification of 10 Structures into 4 Structures is because the Day Master(日干) becomes the subject in its relation to Eating God, Hurting Officer, Direct Wealth, and Indirect Wealth, on the other hand, the Day Master becomes the object in its relation to Direct Resource, Indirect Resource, Direct Officer. and Indirect Officer. The Four Pillars not belonging to 10 kinds of Structure will be classified into Exceptional Structures. In regard to Punishment and Combination(briefly called PC) within Four Pillars, this study divides it into PC type and Non-PC type. PC type is divided into PC-superior Structure and Non PC-superior Structure, and Non PC Structure is also divided in the same way.
The result of analysis of political elites’ Bazi in terms of Day Master is that the Earth of Gi(己土) and the Metal of Kyeong(庚金) are 4 cases, respectively, the Wood of Kap(甲木), the Earth of Mu(戊土), and the Water of Lim(壬水) are 2 cases, rspectively, the Fire of Jeong(丁火), the Metal of Shin(辛金), and the Water of Gye(癸水) are 1, respectively, and no the Wood of Eul(乙木) or the Fire of Byeong(丙火). By the standard of the mixing of PC with the Bazi structure, 3 people have ‘PC with the structure of Eating and Wealth’(刑合 食·財格), 6 people ‘PC with the structure of Officer and Resource’(刑合 官·印格), 4 people ‘Non-PC with the structure of Eating and Wealth’(非刑合 食·財格), 3 people ‘Non-PC with the structure of Officer and Resource’(非刑合 官·印格), 1 ‘Non-PC with the structure of Geon-rok’(非刑合 建綠格). The result above shows that the number of PC in the Bazi of political elites is more than Non PC and the structure of Officer and Resource(官·印格) occupies majority(9 cases, 53%), compared to the structure of Eating and Wealth(食·財格: 7 cases, 41%), and the structure of Geon-rok(建綠格: 1 case, 6%).
The result of analysis of economic elites’ Bazi in terms of Day Master is that the Wood of Gap(甲木), the Fire of Byeong(丙火) are 2, respectively, the Fire of Jeong(丁火) and the Earth of Mu(戊土) are 3, respectively, and the Earth of Gi(己土) is 1, and the Metal of Kyeong(庚金) and the Water of Lim (壬水) are 2, respectively. There is no case of the Wood of Eul(乙木), the Metal of Shin(辛金), and the Water of Gye(癸水). By the standard of the mixing of PC with the Bazi structure, 2 people have ‘PC with the structure of Eating and Wealth’(刑合 食·財格), one person ‘PC with the structure of Officer and Resource’(刑合 官·印格), 8 people ‘Non-PC with the structure of Eating and Wealth’(非刑合 食·財格), and 5 people ‘Non-PC with the structure of Officer and Resource’(非刑合 官·印格). The ratio of PC to Non-PC is 3:13. If 16 cases are classified by the Bazi structure, ‘the structure of Eating and Wealth’(食·財格) are 10 cases(63%), ‘the structure of Officer and Resource’(官·印格) 6 cases(37%).
The result of analysis of cultural elites’ Bazi in terms of Day Master is that 4 people have the Wood of Eul(乙木), 1 person the Fire of Byeong(丙火), 2 people the Earth of Mu(戊土), 2 people the Earth of Gi(己土), 4 people the Metal of Kyeong(庚金), 1 person the Water of Lim(壬水), and 2 people the Water of Gye(癸水). One interesting thing with the Day Master of cultural elites is that the Wood of Eul(乙木) and the Meal of Kyong(庚金) occupies 50% of total cases. Especially, the Wood of Eul(乙木) occupies the most cases of cultural elites, compared to political elites and economic elites. By the standard of the mixing of PC with the Bazi structure, 2 people have ‘PC with the structure of Eating and Wealth’(刑合 食·財格), one person ‘PC with the structure of Officer and Resource’(刑合 官·印格), 5 people ‘Non-PC with the structure of Eating and Wealth’(非刑合 食·財格), and 4 people ‘Non-PC with the structure of Officer and Resource’(非刑合 官·印格), and one person ‘Non-PC with the structure of Geon-rok’(非刑合 建綠格). The ratio of PC to Non-PC is 3:13, meaning absolutely Non-PC superior pattern. If 16 cases are classified by the Bazi structure, ‘the structure of Eating and Wealth’(食·財格) and ‘the structure of Geon-rok’(建綠格), which is very close to the former, occupies 10 cases(69%), ‘the structure of Officer and Resource’(官·印格) 5 cases(31%), and one person ‘Bazi without any typical structure’(無格). One special thing with cultural elites’ Bazi is that the importance of Eating God and Hurting Officer is confirmed and many accidents and events happen when PC is formed in Bazi structure.
Out of total 49 cases, those of Structure of PC Bazi are more than those of Non-PC Bazi. When analyzed in terms of elite group type, more cases of PC are found in the group of political elites than economic elites and cultural elites. Political elites had serious up and down when their Bazi had the Structure of PC and went through the step of graveyard or storage(墓庫地) in relation to Luck Pillar and Year Pillar(大·歲運). In those circumstances, they should overcome PC by Combination of three earthly branches, keeping doing what they have been doing rather than starting new things and being active.
This study tried to collect and analyze as many Bazi cases as possible and find the universality of Bazi Structure of each elite group. But this study included not a few cases which has significance to confirm the tendency of Bazi Structure, although it doesn’t reach confirming the universality of Bazi Structure of each group. The problem with the shortage of cases should be made up by further research with more cases.
