四柱命理學 古典에 나타난 六親의 原理와 關係에 대한 硏究 = A Study on the Principles of Formation of Six Relatives and Relations among Them in the Mingliological Texts

This paper explores the principles of formation of Six Relatives(六親 ) and relations among them as they appear in the Mingliological(命理學的) classics, and investigates their application to the interpretation of Four Pillars(四柱).
“Four Pillars of Destiny” is a field of study that predicts a person's destiny through the interpretation of ‘Four Pillars’ or ‘Bazi.’ The Four Pillars represent a person's birth year, month, day, and hour in the form of eight characters, known as stem-branch (干支) combinations. Six relatives refers to the principle in Four Pillars of Destiny where various meanings are attributed to the interaction of Yin-Yang and Five Elements principles.
In modern Four Pillars of Destiny, there is a confusion caused by mixing Six relatives(六親) with ‘Shi Xing(十神)’ or ‘Shi Shen(十星)’ in the interpretation of Four Pillars of Destiny.
The concepts of ‘Shi Xing(十星)’ and ‘Shi Shen(十神)’ originate from Eastern astrology and have different origins and systems compared to the concept of Six relatives(六親) in Four Pillars of Destiny. ‘Shi Xing’ and ‘Shi Shen’ are ten concepts that divide the Five Elements into positive and negative aspects, leading to a binary approach in interpreting Four Pillars, which can restrict the range of interpretation.
It is claimed that the origin of the theory of Six Relatives in Four Pillars of Destiny lies in the book 『Kyung­Ssi-Yeok-Jeon(京氏易傳)』 written by Gyeongbang(京房). However, the composition principles of Six relatives in Four Pillars of Destiny differ from Gyeongbang's Six relatives. Gyeongbang inherited Meng Xi's hexagram divination(卦氣易學) and created the theory of Napgapsul(納甲說), which assigns the Ten Stems(10干) and Twelve Branches(12支) to the 64hexagrams(64卦). The theory of Napgapsul(納甲說) is later referred to as Kyeongbang's theory of Six Relatives in later generations.
Gyeongbang's Six Relatives, predicts the fortune and misfortune of individuals by distributing Stems and Branches(干支) in the Eight Trigrams(八卦) and applying the principles of Five Elements' interaction. 『Kyung­Ssi-Yeok-Jeon(京氏易傳)』 is a scholarly work that combines the Ten Stems (10干) and Twelve Branches (12支) in the field of divination and applies the principles of the Five Elements. It has made significant contributions to the academic field and has influenced Four Pillars of Destiny. Nevertheless, notable distinctions can be observed in the composition, system, and underlying principles of the Six Relatives in Four Pillars of Destiny and the Six Relatives in Gyeongbang.
Six Relatives in Four Pillars of Destiny has a distinct theoretical framework that establishes marital relationships based on the principle of the union of Yin and Yang. It applies the actions of generating, overcoming, controlling, and transforming the Five Elements based on that principle to derive various family relationships. If we apply only the principles of generating, overcoming, controlling, and transforming the Five Elements to the Six Relatives in Gyeongbang and compare it with the Six Relatives in Four Pillars of Destiny, completely different family relationships would be derived, which are not compatible with the logic of Four Pillars of Destiny. In this regard, the Six Relatives in Four Pillars of Destiny should be distinguished from the Six Relatives in Gyeongbang.
This study analyzed the principles of formation of Six Relatives(六親) and relations among them presented in the classical texts, and it revealed that the Six Relatives in Four Pillars of Destiny have a broader concept that differs from the modern concept of ‘Sipsin’ or ‘Sibseong’ used in contemporary Four Pillars of Destiny.
The Six Relatives in Four Pillars of Destiny encompasses three main concepts: the concept of familial relationships formed by the combination of Yin and Yang, representing the union of Yin and Yang; the concept of dividing the relationships of generation, conquest, control, and transformation based on Yin and Yang into ten categories(十神); and the concept that includes the positional significance(宮位) associated with the placement of the Six Relatives. This represents a unique characteristic exclusive to Six Relatives in Four Pillars of Destiny. Utilizing these characteristics, Four Pillars of Destiny has been interpreted and analyzed.
The Six Relatives is a tool used to interpret Four Pillars of Destiny and apply it to a person's actual life, thus clarifying the interpretation of Four Pillars. It is also one of the fundamental principles in the composition of Four Pillars of Destiny. From this perspective, the Six Relatives can be considered as a core of Four Pillars interpretation and an essential element in the formation of Four Pillars of Destiny. Based on this, the application of the Six Relatives to the harmony and structure of Four Pillars was analyzed in order to gain insights into the birth chart.
Six Relatives in Four Pillars of Destiny ascribes meaning to the interactions of Yin and Yang principles and the actions of Qi(氣) in the Five Elements, which involve generation, conquest, control, and transformation. Therefore, various meanings, attributes, and material manifestations can be applied to Six Relatives, and when connected with the positions(宮位) of Six Relatives, the interpretation of Four Pillars becomes rich and substantial. Based on this logic, Four Pillars were analyzed to explore the diverse possibilities of utilizing Six Relatives.
This study presents the uniqueness of the theory of Six Relatives in Four Pillars of Destiny and enhances the understanding of Six Relatives. This contributes to expanding the utility of Six Relatives to interpret Four Pillars of Destiny in diverse ways.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 사주명리학(四柱命理學) 고전(古典)에 나타난 육친(六親)의 원리와 체계를 분석하고 사주에 적용하는 방안에 대해 탐구하였다.
사주명리학은 사람이 태어난 연월일시를 간지(干支) 형태로 나타낸 네 개의 기둥인 사주를 통해서 사람의 운명을 예측하는 학문이다. 육친은 사주명리학의 기본 원리 중 하나인 음양오행의 생극제화(生剋制化)하는 법칙에 다양한 의미를 부여한 것을 말한다.
현대 사주명리학에서는 육친을 십신이나 십성과 혼용하여 사주를 해석함으로써 혼란을 야기하고 있다. 십신과 십성은 동양의 오성술에서 비롯된 개념으로, 사주명리학의 육친과는 기원과 체계가 다르다. 십성이나 십신은 오행을 正과 編으로 나눈 열 가지 개념으로, 사주 해석을 이분법적으로 접근하게 하며 이로 인해 사주 해석의 다양성을 위축시킨다.
일부의 사주명리 학자들은 사주명리학 육친의 시원은 경방의 『경씨역전(京氏易傳)』에 기원한다고 주장한다.
경방은 맹희(孟喜)의 卦氣易學이론을 계승하여 64卦에 10干과 12支를 배당하여 납갑설(納甲說)을 만들었다. 납갑설은 후대에 와서 경방의 육친론이라 불리게 되었다. 경방의 육친은 팔괘에 干支를 배분하고 오행의 생극제화하는 원리를 적용하여 인사(人事)의 길흉을 예측한다. 사주명리학 육친이 10干과 12支를 대입하고 오행론을 결합시킨 경방의 易學에 영향을 받았다는 점은 부정할 수 없다. 그러나 경방의 육친론은 사주명리학의 육친과는 구성 원리와 체계가 다르다는 점에 주목해야 한다.
사주명리학의 육친은 陰과 陽이 合하는 원리로 부부관계를 설정하고 그것을 바탕으로 오행의 생극제화하는 작용을 적용하여 다양한 가족관계를 도출하는 독자적인 이론체계를 가지고 있다. 따라서 오행의 생극제화 원리만을 적용한 경방의 육친을 사주명리학의 육친에 대입하면 완전히 다른 가족 관계가 도출되며, 이는 사주명리학의 논리와 일치하지 않는다. 이러한 이유로 사주명리학의 육친은 『경씨역전(京氏易傳)』의 육친과 구별되어야 한다.
본 연구는 사주명리학 고전에서 제시된 육친의 원리와 체계를 분석하여 육친이 십신이나 십성과는 다른 넓은 의미의 개념임을 규명하였다.
사주명리학에서 육친은 음양의 합으로 이루어진 친족관계를 의미하는 개념, 오행의 생극제화하는 관계를 음양으로 나눈 십신 개념, 육친의 위치와 연결된 궁위(宮位)까지 포괄하는 세 가지의 개념으로 집약된다. 이러한 특징은 사주명리학 육친만의 독특한 특성이다.
육친은 사주를 해석하고 이를 실제 사람의 삶에 적용하여 사주 해석을 구체화하는 도구다. 동시에 사주 명리학의 구성 원리 중 하나이기도 하다. 이러한 관점에서 육친은 사주 해석의 핵심이자 사주 명리학의 구성 원리를 형성하는 중요한 요소라 할 수 있다. 이를 바탕으로 육친을 사주의 중화와 구조에 적용하여 분석해 보았다.
사주명리학의 육친은 음양의 법칙과 오행의 생극제화하는 氣의 작용에 의미를 부여한 것이다. 육친에는 다양한 의미와 속성 및 물상(物象)을 적용할 수 있다. 또 궁위와의 연결을 통해 사주를 실질적이고 구체적으로 해석할 수 있게 한다. 이러한 논리를 기반으로 사주를 분석하여 육친의 다양한 활용 가능성을 탐구하였다.
본 연구는 사주명리학 육친(六親) 이론의 독자성을 제시하고 육친에 대한 이해를 넓히는데 기여한다. 이를 통해 사주를 다양하게 해석하게 하고 육친의 활용 가능성을 확장할 수 있으리라 생각한다.
