청와대의 풍수 입지 분석 : 『양택삼요』이론 적용을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

청와대가 양택지(陽宅地)로 불리한 터이고 건축물이라고 다수의 풍수사와 학자들은 주장한다. 그렇다면 대통령이 청와대에 있을 때 불우한 일이 발생해야 한다. 그러나 흉하다는 양택지에서 빠져나온 후에 왜 흉사가 발생하는가에 대한 의문이 본 연구를 시작하게 된 동기이다. 역대 대통령의 불우한 일들은 청와대 풍수지리 문제의 결과가 아니라 임기 중에 행했던 업(業)의 인과응보(因果應報)로 보아야 할 것이다. 대한민국은 건국이래 한강의 기적을 이루었고 지속적인 성장을 하고 있다. 청와대 풍수는 대한민국의 길흉과 대통령 개인의 불운을 분리하여 고려해야 한다.
본 연구의 목적은 첫째, 조선 시대 경복궁에서 청와대로 이어지는 흉지론에 대한 반론이다. 둘째, 『양택삼요(陽宅三要)』를 근거로 청와대를 효율적으로 활용하거나 개선하는 방안의 풍수 관점의 제시이다.
본 연구는 위에 제시한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 경복궁과 청와대 풍수지리에 대한 다양한 이론적 근거를 찾아보고 청와대를 흉지로 보는 여러 주장들을 검토하고 반박하고자 한다. 또한 청와대의 효율적 활용 방안을 찾고 제시하기 위해 풍수 이론에 기본 고서인 『양택삼요(陽宅三要)』의 이론들을 청와대 구획별로 각각의 건물에 적용시켜 분석하였다. 연구 결과 청와대는 흉지가 아니며 서울은 한반도의 수도로서 가장 적지임을 입증할 수 있었다. 또한 청와대의 효율성을 높이는 방안을 『양택삼요』이론을 근거로 가장 적합한 용도와 실천적 개선안을 찾을 수 있었다.
풍수지리 연구와 『양택삼요』연구의 기본 도구가 되는 팔괘(八卦)와 유년도(遊年圖)의 내용은 간략히 정리하였으며, 본 연구에 본문에 있는 원전들은 직접 번역하고 내용을 해석하였다. 다양한 흉지론과 연구자의 반박 속에 풍수지리 비보(裨補)에 대한 새로운 시각을 반영하였다.
본 논문의 의의는 첫째, 청와대 흉지 주장에 대한 불합리한 논쟁을 종식 시켜 천도에 대한 논쟁을 종결시킬 수 있다. 천도는 천문학적인 비용의 소모뿐 아니라 많은 혼란이 따를 수 있어 국가적으로 최대한으로 신중하게 검토되어야 한다. 둘째, 자유 의지의 영역과 운, 풍수지리의 영역을 구분 지어 보려하였다. 또한 풍수지리적으로 흉지는 아니지만 현 상태가 불만스럽다면 추가적 개선을 행하여야 하는 심리학적 근거를 제시하였다. 셋째, 『양택삼요』에 근거하여 청와대의 효율성과 행운을 높일 수 있는 재배치, 개축, 신축 등의 당장 실행이 가능한 개선안을 제안하였다. 본 연구의 대안 제시는 적은 예산으로도 단기간내에 실행하여 청와대의 가치를 높이고 대통령의 안정과 국익을 높일 수 있다는데 의미가 크다.
본 연구가 청와대 입지와 건물들에 대한 논쟁들을 정리하여 매듭짓고 청와대의 풍수 해설과 활용에 조그만한 디딤돌이 되기를 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Many feng shui practicioners and scholars argue that Cheong Wa Dae is a disadvantageous site or buildings. The motive of this study is to find the reason of why most of the misfortune for the presidents arise after their stepping down from Cheong Wa Dae. Their misfortune should not be the result of the problem of Cheong Wa Dae Feng Shui, but as a retribution of the wrong things had performed during their terms in office. Since its establishment of a country, Korea has achieved the miracle of the Han River and is definitely on the right track to grow. The misfortune of the presidents should be considered separately from Cheong Wa Dae’s Feng Shui.
The purpose of this paper is, first, a counterargument to the theory of unpropitious site from Gyeongbokgung in the Joseon Dynasty to Cheong Wa Dae. Second, it proposes a Feng Shui perspective way on how to efficiently utilize or improve Cheong Wa Dae based on 『Yang-Zhai-San-Yao』.
In order to accomplish the objectives of research presented above, this study tried to find various theoretical grounds for Feng Shui of Gyeongbokgung and Cheong Wa Dae. And reviewed various arguments that the view of Cheong Wa Dae as a unpropitious site. In addition, to find ways to utilize Cheong Wa Dae efficiently, the theories of 『Yang- Zhai-San-Yao』, a classical basic book of Feng Shui theory, were applied to each building of Cheong Wa Dae for each section and analyzed. This study has shown that Cheong Wa Dae is not a inauspicious site and that Seoul is the most adequate capital of the Korean Peninsula. Addedly the most suitable use and practical improvement to increase the efficiency of Cheong Wa Dae have been offered based on the theory of 『Yang- Zhai-San-Yao』.
『Yang- Zhai-San-Yao』 and 8 trigrams, which are tools for the study of Feng Shui, and the contents of 8 types of luck chart were briefly summarized. The original Chinese text in this study was translated and interpreted by researcher. A new perspective was reflected in various claims of unpropitious site and the researcher's rebuttals.
The significant meanings of this paper are, first, try to end the controversy over capital relocation by ending the unreasonable debate over the argument of unpropitious site theory of Cheong Wa Dae. Capital relocation should be taken into heavy consideration, because it could cause lots of confusion nationwide as well as astronomical cost consumption. Second, attempt to distinguish between the area of free will and that of fortune and Feng Shui. Additionally, psychological reason is explained for need of further improvement even though the current condition is not problematic. Third, alternatives such as rearrangements that can increase the efficiency of Cheong Wa Dae can be implemented immediately even in the current state. It is significant that it can be implemented within a short period of time with a small budget. By the improvement of Feng Shui of Cheong Wa Dae can increase the self-efficacy of the presidents and the national interest of the country.
It is expected that this study will conclude the debate on the location and buildings of Cheong Wa Dae and serve as a small stepping stone for the understanding and utilization of Cheong Wa Dae's Feng Shui.
