This study tried to examine the relationship between the entrepreneurial competency of small business owners on their business performance and the moderating effect of small business support projects. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, prior research on entrepreneurship capabilities, management performance, and support for small business owners was analyzed, and a questionnaire was constructed. Based on this, a quantitative study was conducted.
Through this, this study suggests the need to manage human resources, which is a key element of the industry, in order to secure the competitiveness of small business owners, and aims to investigate the influence of small business entrepreneurship competency characteristics on the promotion of business performance. It was intended to suggest that developing and considering one's own capabilities in the field of small businesses at the present time can be an important measure to respond to changes in the current society. In addition, this is because, according to the rapidly changing economic and social environment, empirical analysis results of variables such as entrepreneurship capabilities to be confirmed in this study are required. To achieve the purpose of this study, first, the relationship between the financial and non-financial performance in which the entrepreneurial competency characteristics of small business owners are business performance were identified. The modulating effect was verified.
The results of this study are as follows. First, the hypothesis that the managerial and experiential competencies excluding entrepreneurial competencies among entrepreneurial competencies of small business owners have a positive (+) effect on financial performance was supported. Based on previous studies, it is generally judged that entrepreneurial competency affects financial performance, but the influence relationship is different for each sub-factor. This study is reviewing small business owners, and since the scope of customers is relatively limited, it is understood that entrepreneurial competence that can lead to expansion of customers is not linked to financial performance. In the case of other managerial competencies and experience competencies, it seems to have an impact on financial performance by continuously securing and maintaining customers through the specialization of small businesses.
Second, the hypothesis that the entrepreneurial competency of small business owners has a positive (+) effect on non-financial performance was also supported in the case of managerial competency and experience competency. It was possible to examine the influence of entrepreneurial competency on non-financial performance. However, since the subject of this study is limited to small business owners, if there is an enterprising influence based on entrepreneurial competency, it is considered that there is no significant effect confirmed due to the limitation of management resources.
Third, in the verification of the moderating effect of the small business support project between confirming the effect of the entrepreneurial competency of small business owners on business performance, in the case of entrepreneurial competency, a negative moderating effect was found in all financial performance relationships, whereas managerial competency and In the case of experience competency, there was no significant effect on financial performance, and no significant influence relationship with non-financial performance, so the related hypotheses were not supported. This study considered the impact of the small business support project to be opaque, and in particular, considering the limited management resources of small business owners as mentioned above, it is once again that entrepreneurial competency has a negative moderating effect. can be recalled Although support projects and education projects inspire entrepreneurial capabilities, it is difficult to bring business results to small business owners. Rather, small business owners seem to be facing bankruptcy while forcibly expanding their current business. In the case of managerial competency and experience capability, the moderating effect is not shown by the small business support project. This is because the small business is operated on a small scale, so financial support and educational support will end in one-off satisfaction rather than driving managerial competency or experience capability indicates.
