RPA 적용과 발전방향에 관한 연구 = Research on application and development direction of RPA

국문 초록 (Abstract)

2010년대 중반 제4차 산업혁명이 시작되며 AI, IoT, RPA 등의 신기술이 화두로 떠올랐고 특히 최근 1~2년 사이에 국내외 유수기업에서 RPA 도입에 박차를 가하고 있는 상황이다. 일본의 경우 베이비붐 세대에 해당하는 단카이 세대의 은퇴와 출산율 저하 등에 기인한 인력난으로 한국에 비해 약 1~2년 먼저 금융권을 중심으로 RPA를 도입하기 시작했으며 국내에서도 삼성전자, LG전자 등을 비롯한 대기업들 및 신한은행, KB국민은행 등의 금융권 기업을 중심으로 RPA 도입을 확산해나가고 있는 추세이다. 이는 2020년인 올해에 들어 더욱 가속화 되어가고 있으며 RPA가 인간의 일자리를 빼앗을 수도 있다는 위기감과 거부감, RPA로 인해 오히려 인간이 비정형적이고 창조적인 업무에 대한 투자시간을 확보할 수 있다는 전망 등이 뉴스에 연이어 등장하고 있다.
본 연구는 현재 다방면에서 이슈화 되고 있는 RPA의 개념과 도입 효과 및 RPA에 대한 저항 극복 방안에 대해 알아보고 국내외 유수기업의 RPA 도입사례를 통해 최근 수년 사이에 RPA가 도입되어온 과정을 짚어보고자 한다. 또한 2020년 6월부터 9월까지 진행된 S사의 클라우드 컨택센터 업무 RPA 3건과 대외 홍보용 RPA 1건의 과제 도출, RPA 구성 과정 및 적용 효과 등에 대해 상세히 분석함으로써 기존 업무에 RPA가 적용되어 가는 과정 및 RPA와 엑셀 등의 타 기능 융합시 발생하는 시너지 효과에 대해서도 고찰해보고자 한다. 더불어 미래에 RPA와 AI, IoT 등의 신기술의 융합을 통한 발전 및 RPA의 대중화 방향에 대해 제시하는 데에 그 목적이 있다.
본 연구에서 다룬 RPA 적용 사례 및 추후 발전방향에 대한 내용이 RPA 실무 담당자의 자동화 과제 도출과 업무 RPA 구현 및 적용에 따른 성과 창출에 도움이 되기를 기대해 본다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

With the start of the 4th Industrial Revolution in the mid-2010s, new technologies such as AI, IoT, and RPA have emerged as a hot topic, and leading domestic and foreign companies are accelerating the introduction of RPA in the past 1-2 years. In Japan, RPA began to be introduced in the financial sector about one or two years earlier than in Korea due to the shortage of workforce caused by the retirement of the Dankai generation which is generation of baby boomers, and the decline in fertility rates. Also the introduction of RPA is spreading mainly among the large companies such as Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics and financial companies such as Shinhan Bank and KB Kookmin Bank. This is accelerating even more in this year, 2020, and a sense of crisis and reluctance that RPA could take away human jobs and the prospect that humans could invest their time in atypical and creative work due to RPA are covered in newspaper continuously.
This study examines the concept of RPA, the effect of its introduction, and measures to overcome resistance to RPA which is currently becoming an issue in various fields, and examines the process of introducing RPA through examples of RPA introduction by leading domestic and foreign companies in recent years. Also I would like to consider the synergies that occur when RPA and other functions such as Excel are fused and the process of applying RPA to existing business by analyzing three RPA cases for S company's cloud contact center works and one RPA case for external promotion which were implemented from June to September 2020. In addition, its purpose is to suggest the direction of development through the convergence of new technologies such as RPA, AI, IoT and popularization of RPA in the future.
Finally it is expected that the examples of RPA application and development directions of future discussed in this study will help the staff in charge of RPA discovering tasks of work automation and creating results from the implementation and application of RPA to existing business.
