In recent years, not only changes in population and household structure, such as an increase in single-person households, an aging population, and an increase in opportunities for women to participate in society, but also as income levels increase, food consumption trends have diversified, advanced, and subdivided. These social structural changes are changing our consumption trends, and therefore the consumption of HMR products, which have a wide variety of nutritional and convenient elements that busy modern people can only eat after heating up their cooking to solve a meal, tends to increase.
HMR(Home Meal Replacement) is a packaged finished product that can be used as a substitute for one meal at home. After being purchased from various customers, one can eat home meals almost directly at home or other places. Recently, the Korean household food market is expected to grow from 774.7 billion won in 2010 to more than 2 trillion won in 2016, and to 10 trillion won in 2023.
Consumer awareness of health and safety has become strict, as new-type infections such as MERS, COVID-19 are regularly prevalent. In particular, aquatic products have images of health foods, but due to seasonality and corruptness, consumers are reacting sensitively to food safety, such as the emphasis on freshness.
Then, the purpose was to analyze the effect of selective attributes of aquatic products HMR by dietary lifestyle on consumer satisfaction and behavioral intention, to grasp selective attributes of aquatic products by dietary lifestyle and to provide basic data affecting development of aquatic products and direction of development of new products by grasping consumer satisfaction and behavioral intentions.
This research method carried out literature and empirical research in parallel to establish questionnaire items on consumers' usage of marine products based on their eating habits, selective attributes of marine products HMR, consumer satisfaction, and behavioral intentions. The survey respondents surveyed men and women in their 20s to 50s who have consumed or purchased marine products from HMRs.
There are six questionnaire items in this study, which consist of 76 questions: consumers' eating habits, usage of marine products HMR products, selection attributes of marine products HMR products, consumer satisfaction, intention to act, and demographic characteristics of survey subjects.
Through data coding and data cleaning processes, statistical processing of research data, frequency analysis, description statistics, search factor analysis, reliability analysis, independent sample t test, one-way ANOVA, pearson correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and simple regression analysis were carried out using SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Science)/PC+ver for Window 25.0 statistical package program.
As a result of the analysis, regarding the relationship between the factors of dietary lifestyle and the selection attribute of marine products HMR, which is the first research subject, the pursuit of taste and the pursuit of convenience are the tastes in the lifestyle of diet was shown to have a significant positive(+) effect. And it was found that convenience-seeking, health-seeking, and economic-seeking types have a significant positive(+) effect on price. In addition, in the lifestyle of eating habits, the pursuit of taste, the pursuit of convenience, and the pursuit of economy have a significant positive(+) effect on convenience, and the pursuit of health and the pursuit of economy was found to have a positive(+) effect on health. Regarding the relationship between the selection attribute of marine products HMR and consumer satisfaction, which is the second research topic, taste, price, and convenience among the selection attribute factors of marine products HMR are significant positive(+) for consumer satisfaction. It turned out to have an effect on. It was analyzed that the higher the taste, price and convenience, the higher the consumer satisfaction. In relation to the selection attribute of marine product HMR and the influence of behavioral support, which is the third research subject, taste, price, and convenience among the selection attribute factors of marine product HMR have a significant positive(+) effect on behavioral intention. It was clarified that the higher the taste, price, and convenience, the higher the degree of action. Regarding the relationship between consumer satisfaction and behavioral support, which is the fourth research topic, it was clarified that consumer satisfaction has a significant positive(+) effect on each behavior, and consumer satisfaction. It was analyzed that the higher the value, the higher the degree of action.
It is necessary to strive to increase the reliability of the aquatic product HMR products such as good competition of the food manufacturer related to the aquatic product HMR market which is developed in future. Convenience and nutritional excellence of marine products HMR and safety of marine products, and promotion of stable aquatic product HMR products to consumers. In terms of menu development of marine products HMR products, we hope that systematic research that can generalize the consumption behavior of marine products HMR will be continued through the development of various products, concrete approaches and deep empirical analysis.
