The purpose of this study was to find out the perception of beginning middle school physical education teachers on the teacher education curriculum.
Five physical education beginning teachers were selected as research participants from three different areas of Korea.
To accomplish the purpose of the study in-depth interviews and case study were executed respectively.
The results of the study as follows : Firstly, the participants felt that the teacher education curriculum should emphasize school field experience regarding school administration and management.
Secondly, they expressed that the teacher education curriculum too much stressed the teacher exam.
Lastly, they mentioned the educational practicum in the middle school was insystematic and unproductive.
Several ideas were suggested to improve the teacher education curriculum.
Firstly, the teacher education program should be emphasized the school field experience in terms of school administration and management.
Secondly, the teacher education programs need more method classes.
Lastly, the educational practicum need the strategic change to be accountable.
