With the development of information and communication technology, the popularization of the Internet and SNS has made it possible to communicate collective intelligence online. Crowdfunding, a new funding method for small and medium-sized venture companies or individuals based online, is attracting worldwide attention.
This research examined crowdfunding, which was used by early start-ups for the purposes of financing, marketing and pre-market research, and studied trust as a moderating variable. In crowdfunding, trust is a very important factor.
Through the existing precedent studies related to crowdfunding, the variables of shared value, perceived risk, communication, personal innovation, commitment and funding intention were derived by utilizing social exchange theory and innovation diffusion theory. The relationship between independent variables, trust as a moderating variable, and funding intention as a dependent variable was empirically analyzed through structural equation method analysis.
According to the results of this study, the shared value showed significant results in the relationship with perceived risk, and communication had a positive effect on individual innovation of investors.
And perceived risk, communication and personal innovation showed significant effects on the project's commitment level, while the commitment level showed positive results on investor's funding intention. In addition, the moderating effect of investor trust in the relationship between shared value and perceived risk showed negative results.
The results of this study will be used as foundation for understaning the factors affecting the investor's participation intention in crowdfunding projects and establishing strategies to prepare for crowdfunding in detail. Sot it can help to achieve the success of crowdfunding projects.
