십이운성과 색의 상관관계 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

사주명리는 인생의 올바른 지침역할 및 인간탐구라는 목적을 가진 학문으로 시대가 변하여도 주된 목적과 본질은 유지되어야한다. 반면에 사주명리를 활용하는 면에서는 시대에 맞춰 다양성을 넓힐 필요성을 가진다. 본 논문은 사주명리와 색채에 관한 연구로 오방색으로만 응용되는 사주명리의 색에 대한 한계성을 인식하였다. 나날이 급변하는 세상임에도 사주명리는 청(靑), 적(赤), 황(黃), 백(白), 흑(黑)색 위주이다. 이에 인간의 삶과 심리를 과연 다섯 가지 색채로만 정의를 내릴 수 있을 것인가에 의문을 표한다. 본 논문은 다양한 색채 확장의 가능성을 위해 사주명리의 십이운성(十二運星)이론과 색(色)을 비교하여 상호간의 연관성을 살피는데 목적을 둔다. 또한 십이운성을 색채학적으로 살펴보는 발상전환의 가능성 및 12가지 색채로의 확대를 꾀해본다. 이를 위해 십이운성의 단계별 특징과 먼셀의 색상환을 기준으로 선정한 각 색채들의 특성을 살펴본다. 그 다음 서로가 지닌 의미와 상징성을 비교 고찰하여 유사성을 도출하였다. 그리고 이 과정을 통해 십이운성의 과정별 상태와 색채가 지닌 상징 간에는 심리적으로 현상적 유사성이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 십이운성 단계에 따라 일치성 여부는 정도의 차이가 있었다. 그러나 관찰을 통한 십이운성과 색채는 종합적으로 경험에 의해 친화성과 연관성이 존재한다고 본다. 이를 통해 사주명리의 색채를 12색으로 확장할 수 있는 가능성의 시도 및 동·서양 학문의 접목을 시도한 부분에 논문의 의의를 둔다. 본 논문의 시도가 실용화되어 상담기술이나 심리치료에 활용되기 위해서는 체계적 방법론의 방안이 있어야하며 앞으로 나아가야 할 연구과제이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Saju-myeongri (Four Pillars of Destiny) is the science with the role of right guidelines for life and with the purpose of pursuit of man. While its main purpose and essence must maintain even in the change of the times, there is need to broaden diversity fitting into each era in terms of using Saju-myeongri. This thesis working on Saju-myeongri and colors lighted up the limitations in the color of Saju-myeongri, which is only applied in Korea’s traditional Obang five colors. Even in this rapidly changing world, Saju-myeongri uniquely focuses on the colors of blue, red, yellow, white and black. This leads to the question whether it is possible to define human life and psychology with these five colors only.
For expansion into varied colors, this thesis is aimed to look into mutual relationships by comparing Saju-myeongri’s Sibiunseong theory (meaning the twelve stages of human life) with its colors. Besides, it seeks for paradigm shift by looking at Sibiunseong chromatically and expanding into twelve colors. To that end, this study investigates the characteristics of the Sibiunseong by stage and features of each selected color based on Munsell’s color circle. Then, similarities were drawn by considering the meanings and symbols of each by comparison. Through these processes it was found that psychologically, there was a phenomenal similarity between stage-by-stage conditions of human life and color symbols. By Sibiunseong, there were differences in the degree of affinity. However, it is considered that by observation, Sibiunseong and colors have an overall correlation to affinity by way of experience.
This thesis has significance in attempting at possibility to expand the Saju-myeongri’s colors into twelve ones and at combining scholarships of the East and the West. It is considered that future study should find a scheme for methodology so that this attempt here may be put to practical use for counseling skills or psychotherapy.
