This study utilized uses and gratifications theory during the research process, in examining love-life vlog, a newly blooming genre in new media. Vlog genre is fairly recently introduced in China, but has become extremely popular. Because China still lacks relevant research despite vlog genre’s popularity, this study is significant in that it examines the effects of viewing motivation on viewer satisfaction and persistent-viewing intention in the scope of Chinese vlog-viewers. This academic research aims to reach beyond daily life vlog genre and contribute to me-media content production and overall me-media industry.
