The Effects of Relationship Marketing in Hair Salon on the Consumers' Reuse Intention-Based on the effects of customer trust-
Focusing on the concept of relationship marketing in hair salon, this study aims to understand the effects of the relevant variable on the customers' reuse intention. This study also aims to examine the mediating effects of customers' trust in hair salon on the relation between those two variables. The objective of this study is to develop an active communication model with customers as the measures for catching up or leading the rapidly-changing trends, and also to suggest the basic data necessary for the active relationship marketing means in the future.
For this, targeting total 537 consumers who agreed to participate in this study out of hair salon users in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do regions, from June 2018 to September 2018, the relationship marketing factors in hair salon perceived by consumers, their reuse intention, and their trust in the relevant hair salon were measured and analyzed. The collected data was analyzed by using the SPSS 21.0.
The main results of this study could be summarized as follows.
First, the highest frequency of the research subjects was shown in women, the age group in 20th, graduates of high school or lower, students, less than 1million won for income level, and the unmarried.
Second, the Model2 analyzing the effects of relationship marketing on the reuse intention, was statistically significant on the reuse intention. The variables having statistically significant effects on the reuse intention are as follows.
Out of relationship marketing, the customer orientation, fellowship, physical facilities, and price had statistically significant effects on the reuse intention.
Third, the Model3 in which the relationship marketing and customer trust(whole) were put together, was statistically significant on the reuse intention. Out of relationship marketing as an independent variable, the fellowship and price had statistically significant effects on the reuse intention. At the same time, the customer trust(whole) as a mediating variable also had statistically significant effects on the reuse intention.
Fourth, the Model3 in which the relationship marketing and customer trust(competency) were put together, was statistically significant on the reuse intention. Out of relationship marketing as an independent variable, the customer orientation, fellowship, and price had statistically significant effects on the reuse intention. At the same time, the customer trust(competency) as a mediating variable also had statistically significant effects on the reuse intention.
Fifth, the Model3 in which the relationship marketing and customer trust(consideration) were put together, was statistically significant on the reuse intention. Out of relationship marketing as an independent variable, the customer orientation, fellowship, and price had statistically significant effects on the reuse intention. At the same time, the customer trust(consideration) as a mediating variable also had statistically significant effects on the reuse intention.
Sixth, the Model3 in which the relationship marketing and customer trust(honesty) were put together, was statistically significant on the reuse intention. Out of relationship marketing as an independent variable, the fellowship and price had statistically significant effects on the reuse intention. At the same time, the customer trust(honesty) as a mediating variable also had statistically significant effects on the reuse intention.
The results of this study empirically verified the effects of relationship marketing on the customers' reuse intention, by focusing on the concept of relationship marketing in hair salon. This study also verified the mediating effects of customer trust in hair salon on the relation between those two variables. This shows the importance of mediating effects of trust on the relation between relationship marketing and reuse intention.
Based on the results of this study, the conclusions and implications could be suggested as follows.
In order to maintain relationships with customers, it would be necessary to establish the customer database by understanding their personal information in advance and also showing individual interest in each customer, to make them feel like being treated well by using the virtual space, to continuously invest in the management/repair/maintenance of facilities, and also to put efforts to induce/maintain customers by presenting the valid and reasonable prices that could represent the service quality of hair salon.
First, out of relationship marketing in hair salon, the customer orientation, fellowship, physical facilities, and price had significant effects on the reuse intention and customer trust, so that it would be necessary to meet customers' needs for increasing the customer orientation, to respect customers' opinions, and also to actively use the customer management system by writing down dialogues with customers and details of procedure/consultation for understanding their needs in advance. For the fellowship, there should be a system to form friendly relationships. Regarding the physical facilities, the facilities that could stimulate customers' senses such as sculpture, color, smell, and interior design as physical conditions that could have effects on the customers should be reorganized for appealing to the existing customers. It would be needed to put efforts to induce/maintain customers by presenting the valid and reasonable prices that could represent the service quality of hair salon.
Second, there were the mediating effects of customer trust on the effects of relationship marketing on the reuse intention. Therefore, in order to remove the risks in the relationships between customers and hair salon and also to reinforce the long-term unity, it would be necessary to provide continuous training for efficient dialogues based on professional knowledge, and also to establish the system that could stimulate customers' emotion rather than reason by providing them with economic benefits and sincere services.
The results of this study focusing on the concept of relationship marketing in hair salon could be used as the basic data for the use of relationship marketing for each consumer in the saturated market. Also, there should be follow-up researches under the theme of empirically understanding the market mechanism as a suppressing variable for presenting the efficient measures for relationship marketing.
