동중서의 天人感應論과 中和의 경계 : 음양의 범주를 중심으로 = Dong Zhongshu’s theory of interaction between Heaven & Mankind and the Boundary of Zhonghe - Focusing on the categories of Yin and Yang

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The essay is a research on the principle of Zhonghe in Dong Zhongshu’s theory of interaction between Heaven and Mankind.
This research is focused on the categories of Yin and Yang.
In this paper, it is interpreted that Zhongyong means the golden mean and Zhonghe means neutralization of the Confucian school.
The main subject of this paper is to find the meaning of neutralization in the relationship of Three factors; heaven, earth and mankind.
The harmony between heaven and earth is based on the principle of neutralization. Through Two spirits of Yin and Yang, the principle of neutralization is functioned as the way of “once in Yin, once in Yang”
Dong Zhongshu’s theory of interaction between Heaven and Mankind is systemized into the relationship of Yin and Yang.
The universe's interaction is considered a concept of Yin and Yang and the change in the universe is considered a concept of Five Elements.
The vital force in Yin, Yang and Five Elements is the principle of neutralization. Therefore this principle of change in the universe is recognized as the principle of neutralization. In human society, the circulation of seasons has a important role to lead a life of food, clothing and shelter. The research found the signification of neutralization in the change of four seasons. The concept of timing in human life is the principle of neutralization.
In the universe, the principle of neutralization works in accordance with the way of Yin and Yang and it is reflected into human affairs. In the life of mankind, Yang represents birth and Ying represents death, so Yang prefers virtue and Ying prefers punishment.
Therefore first of all, the monarch(the Son of Heaven) should practice virtue as the command of Heaven and after the punishment should be carried out.
Through the research, this paper found a valuable clue in neutralization as follows : That implys the timing’s value.
As Zhongyong and Zhouyi(The Book of Changes) have the principle of “Through the golden mean in Timing and act the golden mean in Timing", Dong Zhongshu also contended to use the golden mean in Timing.
Dong Zhongshu has a unique concept in neutralization. He deals Zhong(mean) as the peak conditions between Yin and Yang, but it is interpreted the unbiased conditions in the golden mean. As all the things go to extremes and then be changed and he asserted the timing’s value, his concept of neutralization is connected to the golden mean.
Conclusionally, this paper could confirm heaven and mankind should respond each other and become one in the way of neutralization through Yin and Yang.
