부모의 공감과 자기위로능력의 관계 : 자아존중감과 사회적 지지 지각의 매개효과 = The relationship between parental empathy and soothing ability : mediating effects of self esteem and perceived social support

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 부모의 공감과 자기위로능력의 관계에서 자아존중감과 지각된 사회적 지지의 매개효과를 확인하는데 목적이 있다. 연구대상자는 경기도 소재의 대학교에 재학 중인 만 19~24세의 후기청소년 남녀 444명이었으며, 부모의 공감 척도, 자아존중감 척도, 지각된 사회적 지지 척도, 자기위로능력 척도를 사용하여 질문지를 구성하고, 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 23.0과 AMOS 22.0을 사용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 부모의 공감은 자기위로능력에 직접적으로 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라 자아존중감과 지각된 사회적 지지를 통해서 간접적으로도 자기위로능력에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 애착 및 대상관계 이론에서 강조하는 자기위로능력의 형성 및 유지에 있어 부모의 공감적 양육과 그로인해 내면에 형성된 자기와 타인에 대한 긍정적인 표상의 역할을 경험적으로 확인한 것이다. 본 연구의 결과는 자기위로능력의 문제를 겪고 있는 후기청소년의 어려움에 개입하는데 있어 유용한 자료를 제공할 것으로 예상한다. 특히, 스스로를 가치 있는 존재로 여기고 타인을 지지적인 존재로서 여길 수 있도록 개입하는 것이 자기위로능력의 형성 및 향상에 있어 효과적인 개입이 될 것으로 보인다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating effects of self-esteem and perceived social support in the relationship between parental empathy and soothing ability. The subjects of the study were 444 late adolescents aged 19~24 years old who were enrolled in a university located in Gyeonggi. And, scale of parental empathy, scale of self-esteem, scale of perceived social support and scale of soothing ability were used as measuring tools to constitute questionnaire and then the data were collected. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 22.0. The results of the analysis showed that parental empathy not only directly influences soothing ability, but also indirectly affects soothing ability through self-esteem and perceived social support. This result empirically confirmed the role of parental empathy and positive mental representation of self and others formed by parental empathic care in the formation and maintenance of soothing ability that is emphasized in attachment and object relation theory. The results of this study are expected to provide useful data for intervention in the difficulties of late adolescents experiencing problems of soothing ability. Particularly, it seems to be an effective intervention to consider oneself as a worthy existence and to consider others as supporters in the formation and enhancement of the soothing ability.
