This research is on Feng Shui and the environment of elderly care hospital. The purpose of this study is to try a more detailed study on what role they are playing by trying field case analysis by Feng Shui principle and applying it to the case of elderly care hospital, and by applying the result of the study to the environment of buildings on the lot of elderly care hospital.
For this purpose, this study validated of Ulsan ○○ Elderly Care Hospital, the first class care facility in Ulsan, using the open materials of the present condition of 2013 elderly care hospital rating.
As in Chapter 2, the analysis of the case site is based on the analysis of the Feng Shui theories applicable to elderly care hospitals.
The subjects of the analysis were examined of whether the location of the elderly care hospital was appropriate or not in terms of Raeyongmaek, Sasinsa(Jusan, Ansan, Cheongyong, Baekho), Sugye of Feng Shui. In addition, concerning the shape of building of the case hospital, the shape of land, plane, and the roof were analyzed to consider the good or ill luck of he building of the case elderly care hospital.
Lastly, the environment of the case elderly care hospital was classified into locational, topographical, environmental, and economic factors in order to help create and maintain the living environment where residents can live comfortably and pleasantly and get treatment.
The results of the study acquired by applying it to the case elderly care hospital to accomplish this purpose are as follows.
First, as for the location of the elderly care hospital, Jusan Raeyongmaek is divided and a Maek of energy comes into the elderly care hospital, and Ansan is the three-dimensional body of Cheongyong Ansan. The energy of Cheonyongseong comes into the hospital, and then shows the Yodoseongjigak formed with a little gully. Baekhoseong comes in well and then shows a little lack. As for Sugye, Cheonyong maintains the wide field in front and Namchangcheonmul.
Second, As for the layout of the building, the case elderly care hospital is regarded to be well equipped with the three essential elements of Yangtaek(Baesanimsu, Jeonjeohugo, and Jeonchakhugwan).
Third, the shape of the building is rectangular and good, and the shape of the lot and the roof looks also good. The arrangement of entrance gate seems good as it maintains the Namchangcheon in front and the waters in the field.
Based on the results of researching this contents, the direction of policy improvement is as follows.
First, it seems necessary to develop a systematic program that applies the scientific Feng Shui principle to the location, living environment, and layout of building as shown in the above case analysis.
Second, the care hospitals are subject to evaluation grading system, and additional items related to Feng Shui are required. For example, sleeping in the direction of energy entry might affect men positively, so various factors can be applied.
Third, it is required to newly establish a research institute that applies the Feng Shui principle in the government agency. The elimination of the usability of land and the unplanned development when major state agencies implement a large-scale urban planning is, so to speak, causing inconceivable losses to the public. For example, there are reports that many advanced countries including the United States and the United Kingdom have Feng Shui related agencies in government.
Based on the results of this research contents, suggestions of follow-up research are as follows.
First, this study was conducted mostly around the case elderly care hospital, but follow-up study on the size of energy should be done for more accurate analysis. By doing so, more choices are possible.
Lastly, this study was confined to elderly people at elderly care hospitals. It is desirable that in-depth study will be carried out in the future by applying diverse variables in consideration of the influence on the energy of the buildings.
