현대작명법의 실태에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Actual Condition of the Modern Naming Technique

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현대작명법의 실태에 관한 연구
본 논문은 작명법에 사용되고 있는 수리, 한자, 한글이라는 각각의 요소를 균형있게 접목하여 합리적인 작명법을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 개명과 작명의 수요가 날이 갈수록 증가하는 현대사회에서 이름은 단순히 다른 사람과의 구별하기 위해 존재하는 호칭으로만 존재하는 것은 아니다. 이름의 대상이 추구하고자 하는 이미지나 삶의 형태가 반영된 표지(標識)로써 인식되고 있다고 보는 것이 바람직하다. 따라서 작명을 하는 이들의 수요에 충족하기 위해 ‘어떠한 방법으로 작명을 하는 것이 중요한가’에 관한 논의는 무엇보다 중요하다.
합리적인 형태의 작명법은 각각의 작명이론이 보이는 한계점을 극복하고, 균형적인 시각으로 각각의 요소를 반영할 수 있어야 한다. 본 연구자가 제시한 합리적 형태의 작명법은 다음과 같다. 먼저, 한글이름을 결정하여 소리(육친)의 오행을 배속 한 다음, 자음(子音)에 속한 오행은 『훈민정음』해례에 제시된 내용을 따르는 것이다. 그 다음으로, 한자이름을 정할 때에는 사주에서 부족한 오행을 보충하기 위해 자원오행을 바탕으로 한 용신작명법으로 한자를 정한다. 또한, 한자를 정할 때는 현대의 작명법에 통용되고 있는 수리 81수의 획수를 참고하여야 한다. 또한 이렇게 고안된 작명법을 토대로 작명과 개명의 사례를 밝혀 본 연구자가 제시한 작명법이 보다 많은 사람들에게 참고가 되기를 바라는 바이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to present a reasonable naming technique by combining in a harmonious way the elements of number, Chinese characters, and Hangeul which are used in naming technique. In the modern society, in which the demand for renaming and naming increases day by day, a name is not just a title which only exists to distinguish the one the name indicates from others. It is advisable to see that the name is recognized as a sign reflecting the image or the life style that the object of the name wants to pursue. Therefore, it is necessary to discuss "how important it is to name in certain way" in order to meet the needs of those who want to name.
A reasonable method of naming should overcome the limitations of each naming theory and apply each element with a balanced view. The reasonable method of naming proposed by the researcher is as follows. First, after determining the Hangeul name and assigning the five elements of the sounds (six kinds of relativeness), and then one should abide by the contents presented in ⌜Hunminjeoungeum⌟ Haerye when it comes to the five elements affiliated to the consonants. Next, when determining Chinese characters associated with the name, the Chinese characters should be determined according to Yongshin naming technique which is based on the five elements that belong to each Chinese character to complement the five elements lacking in the Four Pillars of the owner of the name. Also, when choosing Chinese characters, one should consult the number of strokes in a Chinese character, the number of 81 strokes which is commonly used in modern naming technique. In addition, it is hoped that the naming method proposed by the researcher who has revealed the examples of naming and renaming based on the naming technique thus devised will be helpful to many people.
