Care workers have been cultivated and become available with the introduction of the long-term care insurance at Korea's worryingly soaring population of older people with their risen average lifespan, resulting in a social issue which should be dealt with on a national scale. It is considered necessary to strengthen the capacity of the care workers and to build their expertise by the job training in order to increase the job satisfaction of the care workers in the recent industrial settings.
This study is to be helpful in increasing the job satisfaction of care workers, improving the quality of life and leading a stable and happy life for their old age as well as in providing a basic data for the policy making by examining the effect of the job training on the job satisfaction, investigating the correlation between the variables and identifying the variables affecting the job satisfaction.
This study is also to understand the general characteristics of the care workers at the nursing facilities, which is analyzed in terms of frequency and percentage and the exploratory factor analysis has been conducted for the validity analysis of the measurement tool and the internal consistency of the questionnaire items has been verified and analyzed using the Cronbach α coefficient. Pearson correlation coefficients have been analyzed in order to understand the relation between the variables of the factors Influencing on job satisfaction, the educational satisfaction in job training, the job satisfaction. Factors affecting the job satisfaction have been analyzed by multiple linear regression. Mediation regression analysis has been conducted in the light of the three stage mediation regression analysis proposed by Baron and Kenny (1986) in order to understand the mediating effect of the job training in the relationship between the factor affecting the job satisfaction and the job satisfaction and the results and suggestions of this study are as follows.
Firstly, the human relations and motivation of the factors affecting the job satisfaction perceived by the care workers are found to have a positive (+) effect on the internal satisfaction.
Secondly, the workload, the human relations and motivation of the factors affecting the job satisfaction perceived by the care workers are found to have a positive (+) effect on the external satisfaction. Thirdly, only he human relation of the factors affecting the job satisfaction perceived by the care workers is found to have a positive (+) effect on the educational contents.
Fourthly, the human relations and facility environment of the factors affecting the job satisfaction perceived by the care workers are found to have a positive (+) effect on the competency of the instructor.
Fifthly, the factors affecting the job satisfaction perceived by the care workers are found not to have a statistically significant effect on the educational facilities at the significance level of p <.05.
Sixthly, the educational contents are found to have a partial mediating effect on the relation between the factors affecting the job satisfaction and the internal satisfaction of the care workers.
Seventhly, the competency of the instructor is found to have a partial mediating effect on the relation between the factors affecting the job satisfaction and the internal satisfaction of the care workers.
Eighthly, the competency of the instructor is found to have a partial mediating effect on the relation between the factors affecting the job satisfaction and the external satisfaction of the care workers.
In conclusion, as shown from the results of this study, the human relations in the study on the mediating effect of the job training of care worker on the job satisfaction are found not to be simple human ones but to be the ones with their supervisors and the friendly relations between their colleagues and the tolerant and permissive attitude are found to have a positive effect on the inmates and to be significant in the mediating effect of the job training on the job satisfaction. However, the educational facilities are found not to have an effect in terms of the factors affecting the job satisfaction perceived by the care workers. The educational facilities in terms of the internal satisfaction and the educational contents and educational facilities in terms of the external satisfaction are also rejected as they don't have a mediating effect. That is, the educational contents and the competency of the instructor in the relation of the factors affecting the job satisfaction of the care workers and the internal satisfaction and the competency of the instructor in the relation of the external satisfaction are found not to have a mediating effect. Accordingly, it is confirmed that the human relations rather than something external have a direct and positive effect on the educational contents in order to increase the job satisfaction perceived by the care workers.
Therefore, it is confirmed that human relations are the greatest influential factor to increase the job satisfaction among the factors affecting the job satisfaction of the care workers, including the workload, the value and prospects, motivation, facility environment and social support. That is, the positive human relations with an appropriate workload are found to increase the job satisfaction of the care workers.
It is expected that the results of this study will help increase the job satisfaction of the care workers, enhance their expertise as well as their work capacity, and provide the foundation for the substantial improvement.
