This study is to explore the relationship between Korean workers' communication style and their job satisfaction when working with foreign laborers.
It is analyzed the communication style and job satisfaction of Korean workers working with foreign laborers, and also explored the relationship between the communication style and job satisfaction of Korean workers working with foreign laborers in order to accomplish this purpose. Conclusions from this research are as follows:
First, the meaningful differences had appeared in terms of the level of communication style based on gender, religion and education. High percentage of communication stance is placating and congruent response in males. Low percentage of communication stance is blaming response in people with religion. High percentage of communication stance is placating and congruent response in people who have a college education or higher.
Second, the meaningful differences had appeared in terms of the level of job satisfaction according to gender, religion and education. Males are more satisfied with their working environment than females. Religious people are more satisfied with their work than people without a religion. People who have less than a middle school education are more satisfied with their work than people who have a high school education or above.
Third, there is a weak correlation between communication style and job satisfaction. There is a static correlation between placating stance and job satisfaction. There is a negative correlation between blaming stance and job satisfaction.
Now, the number of foreign laborers working in Korea is increasing. Therefore, the number of Korean workers who have difficulties in working with foreign laborers is increasing, too. Based on the results of this study, various lifelong education programs are needed for Korean workers' job satisfaction when working with foreign laborers.
