유치원교사의 직무스트레스가
유아교육에 미치는 영향에 관한 사례 연구


이 연구는 유치원 교사의 직무스트레스가 유아교육에 미치는 영향과 대처방안에 대한 사례연구를 연구하고자 하였다. 이를 통하여 교사의 직무스트레스에 심각성을 파악하고, 유아교육에 영향을 미치는가에 대하여 연구한 결과를 통하여 스트레스 대처방안 연구 및 실행을 위한 기초자료를 제시해주었다. 또한 직무스트레스가 유아교육에 미치는 영향 및 대처방안이 교사의 개인배경 및 근무여건에 따라 차이가 있는가에 대하여 연구하는데 목적을 두었고 연구문제는 다음과 같다.

첫째, 유치원 교사의 직무스트레스는 어떠하며, 이는 국내 / 국외 유치원 교사에 따라 차이가 있는가?
둘째, 유치원 교사의 직무스트레스 대처방안은 어떠하며, 이는 국내 / 국외 유치원 교사에 따라 차이가 있는가?
셋째, 유치원 교사의 직무스트레스와 스트레스 대처방안과의 연관관계가 있는가?
넷째, 유치원 교사의 직무스트레스가 유아교육(상호작용)과 연관관계가 있는가?

이 연구는 유치원 교사의 직무스트레스 대처방안에 대하여 국내 및 국외를 대상으로 비교분석하였으며, 국내 교사들은 심층 면접 연구방법을 통하여 자료를 수집하였다. 연구대상으로 선정한 9명의 국내 유치원 교사를 대상으로 하였고, 이는 연구결과 도출을 위한 참고자료로 활용하였다. 기본적으로 사례분석을 통한 연구결과를 제시하였으며, 인터뷰 내용은 결과 도출을 위한 자료로 활용하였다.
연구결과 유치원 교사의 직무스트레스는 동료교사 및 상급자, 학부모별로 스트레스 양상이 다르게 나타났으며, 교사들이 갖는 어려움과 스트레스 역시 교사 개인의 문제와 부족함만이 원인이 되는 것이 아니며, 유아교육 관련자 모두가 함께 해결해야 할 필요성을 인식할 수 있었다.
또한 대다수의 유치원 교사의 스트레스 대처 방안은 문제를 규정하고 대안적인 해결책을 제시하는 환경 지향적 대처보다는 자신에 관한 것을 변화시키는 내부지향적 대처나 자신의 생각을 바꾸는 정서 집중적 대처 방안을 선호하였다.
이 연구를 통하여 국내 유치원 교사의 근무 환경 및 스트레스 요인에 대한 실태를 점검해볼 수 있었고, 교사들에게 필요한 스트레스 대처방안에 대한 실질적인 연구를 해볼 수 있었다. 이 연구는 유치원 교사들의 스트레스가 유아교육에 미치는 영향과 대처방안에 대한 사례분석을 통하여 교사들이 스트레스를 컨트롤하는 방안에 대한 기초자료를 제공하고 있다. 그렇기 때문에 이 연구는 교사의 스트레스 대처방안 연구의 필요성을 인지시켜주는 점에서 의의가 있다고 할 수 있다.

Case Study on Infant Education Effect
by kindergarten teachers' Stress.

The research attempts to investigate the case study regarding influences of job stress of preschool teachers on early childhood education and its coping methods. The research has apprehended the magnitude of job stress imposed on preschool teachers and presented fundamental data for studying and executing coping methods to relieve the stress by referring to research results on how the stress affects early childhood education.

First, how does the job stress imposed on preschool teachers look like and is there any distinctive characteristics on the stress between domestic and foreign
preschool teachers?

Second, what are the coping methods related to the stress and is there any distinctive characteristics on those methods between domestic and foreign preschool teachers?

Third, is there any traceable connection between the job stress imposed on preschool teachers and its coping methods?

Fourth, is there any traceable connection between the job stress imposed on preschool teachers and early childhood education (interactions)?

The research committed comparative analysis of coping methods related to job stress imposed on domestic and foreign preschool teachers and the research based on in-depth interviews was carried out to collect data for domestic preschool teachers. The subjects for collecting data involved 9 domestic preschool teachers. Subsequently, data were employed as a reference to draw the conclusion of the research. Basically, research proposed the conclusion through the case study and utilized the contents of interviews as materials for drawing the conclusion.
Consequently, the research represented different aspects of job stress depending on the sources of the stress such as fellow teachers, superiors and parents. Thus, it could be recognized that struggles and stresses imposed on teachers should not be blamed entirely on their personal issues and skilllessness and every individuals related to early childhood education should work together to resolve the problem.
Moreover, majority of preschool teachers preferred inner-directed method that transforms their status or emotion-centered method that transforms their ideas to circumstance-directed methods that regulate the problem and suggest alternative solutions.
This research examined actual conditions about job stress imposed on domestic preschool teachers and various sources of the stress and performed practical investigations on corresponding coping methods to relieve their stress. This research provides preschool teachers with essential information on means to control their stress through the case study about influences of their job stress on early childhood education and its coping methods. Therefore, the research reveals its significance by acknowledging the necessity of studying coping methods associated with stress imposed on teachers.
