그릿(GRIT)을 활용한 연기교육 프로그램의 효과분석

In today’s education field, we require education that can make the students overcome the difficulties that they face and develop their characters to lead them to pursue their goals persistently. For this, we need an education system that can maximize the potentials of individuals. This is based on the awareness of the issue for proper method of developing outstanding individual, which should be discussed not only in the field of education but also in many different parts of the society.
This research which is based on the awareness of the issue that an educational plan to develop individual’s characters and maximize one’s potential is necessary, has its objective to build a foundation to strengthen the learners’ understanding to learning and controlling themselves for the goals that they have set.
For this, we’ve evaluated the possibility of positive relationship of GRIT, which is the strength to maximize the potential of individual, and the progress of improvement in achievement to suggest a 15-week learning model that can be applied in education field by constructing an education program of acting using GRIT.
To verify whether GRIT acting program affects positively on improving learners capability to achieve their goals, we carried out a program with 18 acting major students who voluntarily participated to be divided in two groups in S Academy of Fine Arts located in Gangseo-gu, Seoul.
This program was carried out with a method of acting education system which is based on GRIT theory and method of original acting education system in two different groups and organized a qualitative research evaluation method by requesting the result of these two education system in review and self-answering interview.
Also, before the program started, we’ve checked that there isn’t any big difference in the state of the participants’ emotion and the environment that can influence in the result of the learners through prior self-worth evaluation and evaluation for core emotion.
As a result of the post review and self-answering interview evaluation, we could predict the possibility of the positive effects of GRIT acting education system in developing the capability of achieving the learners’ goal by observing the participants of the GRIT acting education system who showed their will to control themselves and had greater achievement compared to the group which used the method of original acting education system.
This research and be meaningful in terms of suggesting GRIT, which can help the individual to maximize the potential and develop their liberal arts refinement, as an educational program to achieve a long-term goal.
Moreover, it has reorganized the existing method of educational theater to a program of acting education that can influence in developing the capability to achieve learners’ goals, and it can be significant as it has been organized in a class model that can show its effectiveness according to the Education Ministry’s curriculum reform so that it can be applied in the learning field.
But the result of the research lacks in its reliability due to the limitation of specialized class environment in the Academy of Fine Arts, limited number of verification, limitation of strictness to prior and post evaluation. Through a follow-up research, we expect to provide the learners to improve their capability to achieve their goals by complementing these limitations.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

오늘날 학습현장에서는 학습자들이 직면하는 어려움을 극복하고 인성을 함양하여 자신의 목표를 향해 꾸준히 노력할 수 있도록 이끄는 교육이 요구된다. 이를 위해서는 개인의 잠재력을 최대한 발현시킬 수 있는 교육 프로그램이 필요하다. 이는 교육계뿐만 아니라 사회 각지에서 논의되어야 하는 올바른 인재 양성을 위한 문제의식을 배경으로 하고 있다.
인성을 함양하고 개인의 잠재력을 발휘할 수 있는 교육 방안이 필요하다는 문제의식을 바탕으로 하는 본 연구는 학습자들이 학습에 대한 이해를 키워내 스스로 자기를 조절하여 목표한 바를 위해 꾸준히 노력할 수 있는 힘을 기르기 위한 기초를 마련하는데 그 목적이 있다.
이를 위해 개인의 잠재력을 이끌어 내는 힘인 그릿과 성취역량향상의 정적 상관관계의 긍정적인 가능성을 확인해보고 그릿을 활용한 연기교육 프로그램을 구성하여 학습현장에 적용 가능한 15주 수업모형을 제시하고 학습자들의 성취역량을 향상시키는데 긍정적인 영향을 미치는지에 대한 가능성을 알아보기 위해 한 회기 시범 프로그램을 실시하였다.
서울시 강서구에 위치한 S예술전문학교 18명의 연기전공자들을 자율 선발하여 두 그룹으로 나누어 실시된 프로그램은 그릿이론을 바탕으로 교육연극방법으로 구성한 그릿연기교육 프로그램과 기존의 교육연극 프로그램을 두 그룹에 각각 실행하고 그 결과를 소감문 작성 및 자기응답식 인터뷰검사를 통한 질적 연구 분석 방식으로 설계하였다. 또한 프로그램이 실시되기 전 사전 자아존중감 검사와 핵심감정찾기 검사를 실시하여 학습자들의 결과에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 속한그룹의 환경 및 참여자들의 감정 상태에 큰 차이가 없음을 확인하였다.
사후 소감문 및 자기응답식 인터뷰검사를 분석한 결과 비슷한 조건에서 그릿을 활용한 연기교육 프로그램 그룹의 참여자들은 통제집단과 비교하여 자신감향상, 노력의지를 나타내는 응답이 대부분이었으며 도전하고 문제를 해결할 수 있었다는 모습이 관찰되었다.
이 연구는 목표한 바를 이룰 수 있도록 이끄는 수업프로그램을 그릿을 활용하여 제시하였다는 점에서 의미를 가질 수 있다. 또한 기존의 교육 연극방법에서 나아가 성취역량향상에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 연기교육 프로그램으로 재구성하였으며, 교육부의 개정교육과정에 맞추어 실효성을 발휘할 수 있도록 학습현장에 적용 가능한 수업모형으로 구성했다는 점에서 의의를 찾을 수 있다. 그러나 예술전문학교라는 특수한 수업환경, 짧은 검증 횟수, 사전-사후 검사 설계의 엄밀성 부족 등의 한계로 연구 결과가 충분한 신뢰성을 확보하기엔 다소 부족함이 있다. 후속 연구를 통해 이러한 한계를 보완함으로서 그릿을 활용한 연기교육프로그램의 적용으로 학습자들의 성취역량을 향상 시킬 수 있는 기회가 제공될 수 있기를 기대한다.
