유년 시절 기억으로 각인된 트라우마의 사진적 재현 : 작품 <숲과 나무>의 상징성을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

인간은 머릿속에 저장되어 있던 기억 속에서 그들의 살았던 삶의 과정이 나 경험과 함께 기억의 여러 가지 요소를 이룬다. 그 기억들은 인식하지 못 한 주변의 대상이 되기도 한다. 예술가는 그들의 삶속에서 작품의 소재를 찾으며, 그것들을 예술작품을 통해서 표현하거나 재현한다. 예술가들에게 있어서 작품을 창작하는 과정에서 자신의 내재된 무의식적 기억이나 트라 우마에 대한 경험이라고 하는 것들을 예술적 영감으로 삶아 예술적 행위의 출발점으로 여긴다.
본 논문에서는 유년 시절 기억으로 인한 무의식적인 트라우마의 재구성 을 통해 나무와 숲을 소재로 사진이라는 도구를 빌어 회화적 기법을 통해 시각적으로 표현한다. 베르그송의 개념과 프로이트의 정신분석학 관점으로 부터 출발하여 예술작품을 통해 승화된 작가들의 작품을 살펴보았고 또한 사진과 회화의 요소를 결합하여 사진과 회화의 경계선이 없다는 것을 깨달 았다. 이를 통해 예술적 행위의 감정 표출로서의 무의식의 이론적 근거를 예술작품으로 재현함으로서 자기 스스로의 의식과 현재 속에 억압된 트라 우마를 치유하는 것에 시도해 볼 것이다.
작품 <숲과 나무> 는 유년 시절 기억을 환기하여 그로인해 생긴 트라우 마를 시각화하는 과정을 통해 본인의 무의식 속에 억압된 기억을 자극하는사진적 행위이다. 작품을 표현하는 형태와 기법은 다양하지만 작품에 투영 된 기억은 내재된 삶 속의 경험을 바탕으로 하였으며, 관객의 소통을 돕는 중요한 소재로 하였다. 유년 시절의 가족으로부터 받은 억압은 회화의 기법 으로 작품을 형상화하였으며 나무와 숲을 소재로 작품화한 것은 시각적 의 미에서 주는 기억의 특징을 포함하여 작품의 형태와 색채, 공간 등을 결합 하여 기억의 재현을 시도하였다.
본 논문을 통하여 본인의 내면적인 트라우마를 작품으로 표현함으로서 타인과의 관계에 대한 기억, 시각적 이미지로 기억된 대상이 아닌 내면세계 의 정신적인 감정을 표현하고자 했으며 이러한 개인의 기억을 토대로 본인 의 삶에 있어서 만나게 되는 무의식중에 억압된 기억을 치유하고자 한다. 작품 속에 나타나는 상징적 이미지의 의미를 스스로 이해하고 그 과정 속 에서 불안하고 두려운 감정을 해소시킴으로써 자아 치유 과정을 거치게 된 다. 이 과정은 무의식속에서 억압되고 내재되어 있던 기억을 자극시켜 반복 적으로 각인된 트라우마 속 이미지에서 효과적인 시각적 표현을 찾고자 한 다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Human makes diverse memory factors with thier life and experience in memory which is intrincit in brain. the memory could be the object whcih was not cognized around him. Artists are finding a subject of work in their life, it is reappeared and expressed by art work. to the aritsts, experience about the unconscious memory and trauma during creating their work are starting point of art work.
Theis theory expresses tree and forest optically through reappearance of unconscious traunma causeed of chilldhood memory by picture with painting techniques. Starting from idea of Bergson and Freud's psychoanalytical view, I examined art pieces I realized that there is no difference between painting and picture after combining picture and factor of painting. Juding from this, I will try to treat the repressed trauma repressed in actual and self-consciousness through reapearance of theorical uncosicous reason which is art performance's expressing emotion.
<Forest and Tree>is photographical performance which stimulates the momory which is repressed in his own unconsciousness through visualizing the trauma by awakening the childhood memory. The expressing way of form and technique are various but the memory appeared in performance was based on experience in life and used as a object to help communicating whith audience. Rpression from familly in childhood is embodied by painting and creating work based on forest and tree try to experss reappearanc of memory through combining feature of memory from the optical meaning ,form, color, and space.
I attempt to express the mental emotion in the inner world through showing the inner tramuma as an art work. On the basis of personal memory, I am willing to cure unconsciously repressed memory faced in our life. During understanding the meaning of symbolic image in the performance ourselves, we are treated by resolving the fear and the anxiety. This process of treatment is stimulating the memory which is repressed and stored in our unconsciousness and finds a effective optical expression in image in trauma carved repeatedly.
