This study examines the relationship between risk factors at job environment and psychological burnout and whether it is changed depending on the degree of gratitude disposition, by paying attention to the psychological burnout of secondary school teachers.
To this end, the questionnaire about risk factors at job environment, psychological burnout and gratitude disposition is administered to 200 secondary school teachers, and then data of it are collected. And hierarchical multiple regression and Pearson correlation analysis of the data are conducted by using the SPSS (VER.21.0) program.
The findings are found from this study:
First, of risk factors at job environment, the role ambiguity is recognized as the most risky one. In particular, teachers in their 20s and 50s put heavy emphasis on the risk factors at job environment.
Second, there is a significant correlation among risk factors at job environment, gratitude disposition and psychological burnout. It is found that the psychological burnout has positive relationship with the risk factors at job environment and negative relationship with gratitude disposition.
Third, the gratitude disposition entirely reduces the psychological burnout, rather than alleviates it caused by the risk factors at job environment.
Such findings suggest that it is necessary to promote a training program and an environment for enhancing the gratitude disposition and decreasing the risk factors at job environment, in order to prevent and lessen the psychological burnout suffered by secondary school teachers.
