命理學의 虛字論에 관한 硏究 = A study on the theory of Heoja in Myeongri

This thesis find out the fundamental theory of Heoja in classical texts and studies its usage in mordern Myengri. To study the awareness and use of the classical methods of the modern theory Heoja of Myeongri will study how science has changed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 현대명리학에서 사용되는 허자론의 근간를 古傳에서 찾고 그 활용과 방법에 대해 연구했다. 고전에서의 허자론에 대한 인식과 사용방법 등을 연구하여 현대명리학에는 어떻게 변화되었는지 연구한 것이다.
본론에서 연구한 결과 허자의 사용은 명리학의 시작부터 사용된 것으로 봐야 할 듯하다. 그 이유은 자평명리학의 시초인 『淵海子平』에서 특수외격을 설명하기 위한 부분으로 허자가 사용되었음을 확인하였다. 또한 근거로 후대에 『三命通會』, 『子平眞詮』 등으로 이어져 오면서 발전했기 때문이다. 특수 외격의 사용에 있어서는 많은 비판의 시각이 있었지만 허자는 계속 사용한 것으로 보인다.
『子平眞詮』에서도 특수 외격에 대한 비판은 있었으나 허자를 부정하는 의미는 아니었으며, 『三命通會』 역시 여러가지로 허자를 사용한 관법들이 보인다. 그 이유는 공협이라는 주제로 공협의 사용법을 논하였기 때문이다.
본 논문의 Ⅱ장에서는 명리학의 태동, 발전, 그리고 명리학의 현대적 역할 및 형성과정에 대해서 논하였고, Ⅲ장에서는 명리학에서의 허자론에 대한 의미 및 종류그리고 명리고전에 나타나있는 허자에 대한 내용들을 알아본 후 Ⅳ장에서 허자론에 대한 사용규칙과 활용방법에 대하여 논하였고 Ⅴ장 결론으로 끝을 맺었다.
古書에서 허자 이용에 중요한 조건은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 원국에 財官이 없을 때 虛字를 이용한다. 둘째, 暗沖이나 暗合은 地支의 두 글자 이상이면 성립되나 글자가 많으면 더 강하게 이용된다. 셋째, 沖이나 合으로 虛字를 사용할 때는 地支의 實字가 계절에 眞氣일 때가 좋다. 넷째로 暗沖하거나 暗合하는 허자가 사주 원국에 있거나 大運, 世運에서 만나면 顚實되어 피해가 있게된다. 다섯 번째, 원국에 암충이나 암합되는 지지글자와 合.冲.刑을 하면 파격이다. 여섯 번째로는 허자를 만들어 내는 實字 역시 沖을 꺼리며 運에서도 그러하다. 마지막으로 허자를 만들어 내는 二支가 空亡이면 공협 할 수가 없다.
위의 내용들은 허자를 사용함으로 인해 貴하게 되는 것을 말하고 있다. 사주원국의 글자보다 貴한 허자 하나가 古書에서 여러 가지의 특수 외격을 만들어 설명하고 있는 것으로 유추해 볼 수 있다.
허자를 고서에서 살펴보면 암시적으로 사용되었던 것으로 허자의 사용이 사주를 보는 관점에서 필요 없는 부분이 아님을 알 수 있다.
현대명리학에서의 허자론은 고서의 특수격들을 분석하여 새롭게 추가하고, 명확하고 간략하게 정의를 하여 사용되고 있다. 그 내용을 살펴보면 飛合, 倒沖, 拱挾, 特合등이 있으며 이러한 관법들의 기본 이론는 고서에서 사용하는 방식과 흡사하다.
현존하는 많은 명리학 이론들 중에는 대부분 고전을 바탕으로 한 것이 대부분인데 이제는 현대적인 분석을 통해 고전의 잘못된 부분들을 밝혀내는 것도 명리학자로서의 의무가 아닌가 생각이 된다.
이번 연구로 허자론은 명리학의 역사와 같은 역사를 가진 오래된 관법의 하나임을 알게 되었고 사주통변을 하는 과정에서 필요한 하나의 관법으로 인정해주어야 하며 古書에서처럼 숨겨진 비법으로 사용하는 그런 관법이 아닌 정확한 논리가 있는 관법으로 인정하여야 한다. 특정인들만 사용하는 비법이 아니라 명리학을 공부하는 학인들에게 공개되어 비판과 수정을 통하여 허자론의 논리가 명확하고 새롭게 정립되기를 바란다.
