The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of teacher efficacy and organizational commitment on psychological well-being of child care teachers. For this purpose, a survey was conducted in 306 child care teachers in Chungbuk Province and the collected data were analyzed through t-test, F-test, and Tukey's post-test and multiple regression analysis using an SPSS 18.0 program.
The results of this research were as follows. As for the effects of teacher efficacy and organizational commitment on self-acceptance, positive relationship with others, and purpose in life, which were the sub-factors of psychological well-being, the higher level of teacher efficacy, the higher level of affective commitment in a sense of belonging and psychological attachment to an organization, and the lower level of continuance commitment to remain as an organizational member, the higher level of self-acceptance, positive relationship with others, and purpose in life among child care teachers. In contrast, organizational commitment had no statistically significant effect on autonomy among the sub-factors of psychological well-being. These results, implies that it is necessary to make a plan for helping child care teachers get committed to, and satisfied with, high-quality child care practicse in a better educational environment for improving their psychological well-being.
