Today with the rapid economic growth, increasing the number of cars and traffic rate thereby rises traffic accident rate. The consequent casualties and economic loss becomes a serious social problem.
Most people now posses cars as the national income increases and transportation is closely related to people's life. As such sharp increase of traffic demand resulted not in safety-oriented policy, but in communication-oriented policy, leaving the measures and investment to transportation insufficient.
The traffic accidents occurring thereby increase direct loss of cost(property loss, medical costs, traffic police administrative costs, insurance company administrative costs and legal and administrative costs due to traffic accidents) and indirect loss of cost(productivity loss of accident victims, the uncertain future due to death or disablement and mental loss).
Therefore if the social costs lost from traffic accidents could be used for construction or re-construction of roads by approaching in terms of Feng-shui, it will be a more fundamental improvement plan to reduce traffic accidents.
All the existing materials have energy and the energy body of the materials form energy field. The energy field means interactive power between energy bodies and is divided into the tuning energy field that gives vital energy and the interfering energy field that does perishing interfering action. Therefore if this tuning action is used for not only Yangtaek or Eumtaek, but construction of road, traffic accidents might be reduced.
The cause of frequent traffic accident spots in terms of Feng-shui can be classified into internal factor and external factor. The internal factor is human factor that comes to drivers or accident victims in the form of tuning or interfering according to their Yangtaek or Eumtaek or their workplace's topographical condition or environment, and affect them directly or indirectly. The external factor is geographical factor that lays focus on the road centering around geography. This research confines to geography-oriented study on frequent traffic accident spots, that is, external factor, excluding human factor.
This research tried to help in reducing the rate of traffic accident occurrence by analyzing the characteristics of frequent traffic accident spots in terms of Feng-shui with the help of the analysis of The Road Traffic Authority and the National Police Agency, and in maximizing the reduction of the rate of traffic accident occurrence with the most efficient and fundamental improvement project by approaching in terms of Feng-shui in the area newly constructing road.
