보육교사의 부모관계에서의 윤리적 갈등 경험 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 보육교사가 부모와의 관계에서 경험하는 윤리적 갈등을 탐색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 현직에 있는 6명의 보육교사들을 대상으로 2015년 7월 28일부터 2015년 9월 21일까지 총 18회에 걸쳐 면담이 이루어졌다. 자료 수집을 위해 심층면담을 하였으며, 수집된 자료의 기록을 위해 연구자저널, 메모, 전사본을 작성하였고 작성된 기록들은 범주화하여 분석하였다.
본 연구를 통해 얻은 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 보육교사는 영유아에 대한 정보를 부모에게 전하는 상황에서 정보의 진실성과 유연성 사이에서 고민하고 있으며, 부모의 양육방식에 대하여 조력자로서의 지속적인 개입과 존중의 책임 사이에서 갈등하고 있다. 또한 부모의 개별적인 요구를 수용하는 자세는 전체 부모와의 공정성 문제 및 영유아에게 미치는 파장 등을 총체적으로 고려하는 관점에 부딪치고 있어, 보육교사는 적절한 판단을 내리기 어려운 윤리적 갈등을 경험하고 있다.
둘째, 보육교사는 윤리적 갈등에 대한 대처로서 모두가 만족할 수 있는 해결을 도모하기 위해 부모 및 어린이집과의 협력체계를 구축하여 적극적으로 소통하는 모습을 보이고 있다. 한편 책임의 일부를 절반으로 축소시키거나, 일방적인 맞춤으로 대응하는 모습도 볼 수 있지만 이러한 대처는 보육교사에게 또 다른 갈등을 가져다주고 있다.
셋째, 부모와의 관계에서 경험하는 윤리적 갈등은 보육교사의 앎과 삶의 변화를 도모하며 갈등의 해결력을 증진시키는 발전의 촉매제가 되지만, 해소되지 못한 채 누적되는 윤리적 갈등은 의욕상실의 발화제가 되고 있다.
이상의 연구결과를 통해 보육교사는 부모와의 관계 속에 내재된 가치와 책임들 간의 충돌, 결과의 모호성으로 인해 윤리적 갈등을 경험하고 있으며, 이에 대한 대처 역시 모든 관계 요소들을 고려하면서 해결하고자 함을 볼 수 있었다. 반면 윤리적 갈등에 대처하는 과정에서 보육교사가 자신의 윤리를 포기하는 모습도 볼 수 있었으며, 해소되지 못한 윤리적 갈등은 교사의 윤리를 축소시키는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 이는 교사교육을 통해 보육교사가 부모와의 관계에서 발생하는 윤리적 갈등을 긍정적으로 해결할 수 있는 역량을 도모하고, 그 과정에서 교사윤리를 포기하지 않도록 지지하는 정서적 지원이 필요함을 시사하고 있다.
본 연구에서 드러난 보육교사의 부모관계에서의 실제적인 윤리적 갈등 사례들은 교사들로 하여금 자신의 실천에 대해 성찰하고 반성해볼 수 있는 여지를 제공할 것이며, 예비 보육교사들에게도 이러한 윤리적 갈등을 미리 예상해보고 고민해보는 시간은 유용할 것으로 기대된다. 또한 교사에 대한 신뢰를 기반으로 하는 어린이집의 정서적 지지는 보육교사가 주도적으로 윤리적 갈등을 해결하는데 중요한 기반이 될 것으로 기대된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this research is to search for ethical conflicts that could happen between parents and childcare teacher. In order to study, 18 times of interviews were placed on during the time of year of 2015 July 28th to year of September 21th with the 6 childcare teachers stay on the job. Depths of interviews were also conducted for collecting data, and research journal, memo and transcript were prepared for record of collected data. Prepared records have been categorized to be analyzed.
This is summarized results from the research.
Firstly, childcare teachers are struggling between veracity of the information and flexibility in terms of providing information to parents of young child, and also ongoing conflict between continued intervention as helper and respect of the responsibility for parenting style of their parents. Besides, receptive attitude from each of parents' demands could collide with the fairness trouble of the entire parents and holistic view that consider impact to young child. Because of these they are experiencing ethical conflicts that are difficulty of judging the proper decision.
Secondly, childcare teacher tries to build a cooperative system with parents and daycare center to show active communication in order for everyone to reach satisfied solution for dealing with ethical conflicts. However, reactions like reducing some of the responsibility by half or unilateral adjustment, bring another conflicts to childcare teacher.
Thirdly, ethical conflicts that can be experienced in relation to parents could promote the changes of knowledge, lifes of childcare teacher and that become catalyst of advancement which powers the solution to conflicts. But, accumulated ethical trouble which stay unsolved ignites the lost of desire.
Through the research, researcher were able to find out that childcare teacher is experienced ethical conflicts in relation to parents by collisions of inherent values and responsibility, ambiguity of result. And Besides, all the related components are considered to be managed. However, childcare teacher gave up their ethical standards in the situation of coping with ethical conflicts, and unsolved ethical trouble minimizes teachers' ethic. This results show that childcare teacher needs education which helps them to handle ethical conflicts positively in relation to parents, and furthermore emotional support not to give up teachers' ethical standards is needed.
In study, the actual examples of ethical conflicts between childcare teacher and parents will provide childcare teacher to self-reflection of their practice, and the time to anticipate and deliberate of ethical conflicts for pre-childcare teacher themselves are expected very helpful. Moreover, the emotional support to daycare center which is based on the trust of teachers is expected to be huge assistance for childcare teacher to settle the ethical conflicts actively.
