어머니의 과보호가 고등학생의 우울 및 불안에 미치는 영향 : 자아탄력성의 매개효과

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 고등학생을 대상으로 어머니의 과보호가 고등학생 자녀의 우울 및 불안에 각각 얼마나 영향을 미치는지를 알아보고 더 나아가 어머니의 과보호가 고등학생의 우울 및 불안에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 자아탄력성의 매개효과를 검증해 보고자 하였다.
이를 위해 수도권 지역에 소재한 2개 고등학교의 1,2학년 600명을 대상으로 청소년이 지각한 어머니의 과보호척도, 아동청소년우울척도(CDI), 아동청소년불안척도(RCMAS), 한국청소년 탄력성척도에 대한 자료를 수집하였고, 이 가운데 547부가 최종 분석에 사용되었다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS와 AMOS 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 상관분석과 구조방정식 모형 분석을 실시하였고 모수 추정방법으로 최대우도법(Maximum Likelihood)을 사용하였으며, 어머니의 과보호와 고등학생의 우울 및 불안과의 관계에 대한 자아탄력성의 매개효과를 검증하기 위하여 Sobel test를 실시하였다.
본 연구를 통해 확인한 결과는 첫째, 어머니의 과보호와 고등학생의 자아탄력성, 우울 및 불안 간의 상관관계를 살펴보면, 어머니의 과보호와 고등학생의 자아탄력성 변인들 간에 부(-)적 상관이, 어머니의 과보호와 고등학생의 우울 및 불안 변인들 간에는 정(+)적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 고등학생의 자아탄력성과 우울 및 불안 변인들 간에는 부(-)적 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 본 연구의 연구모형을 검증하기 위해 각 변인 간의 구조적 인과관계를 분석한 결과 완전매개모형과 부분매개모형 모두 본 연구 모형에 적합하기는 하나, 어머니의 과보호가 고등학생의 자아탄력성의 매개를 통해 우울 및 불안에 영향을 미치는 경로와 어머니의 과보호가 우울 및 불안에 직접적으로 영향을 미치는 경로를 모두 포함한 부분매개모형이 더 적합한 것으로 확인하였다. 즉, 어머니의 과보호는 고등학생 자녀의 우울과 불안에 직접적으로 영향을 주기도 하며, 자아탄력성을 거쳐서 간접적으로 영향을 주기도 하는 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 어머니의 과보호가 고등학생의 우울 및 불안에 미치는 과정에서 자아탄력성의 매개효과를 검증한 결과, 어머니의 과보호 → 자아탄력성 → 우울 경로의 간접효과는 유의미한 것으로 나타났고, 어머니의 과보호 → 자아탄력성 → 불안 경로의 간접효과 역시 유의미한 것으로 나타나 어머니의 과보호가 고등학생의 우울 및 불안에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 자아탄력성이 매개 역할을 한다는 것을 확인하였다.
이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 어머니의 과보호는 고등학생 자녀의 우울과 불안에 직접적으로 부정적인 영향을 미치고, 자아탄력성의 매개를 통해서도 우울과 불안에 부정적인 영향을 미치며, 자아탄력성은 어머니의 과보호와 고등학생의 우울 및 불안의 관계를 부분 매개하고 있는 것으로 본 연구의 핵심내용을 정리할 수 있다.

As targeting high school students, this study is to research how overprotection of mother influences depression and anxiety of the high school children, and furthermore it tries to verify mediating effects of ego resiliency in the process of which overprotection of mother affects depression and anxiety of high school students.
For that, this study collected data about Overprotection Scale of Mother Adolescents Perceive, Children’s Depression Inventory (CDI), Revised Children’s Manifest Scale (RCMAS), and Resiliency Scale of Korean adolescents, focusing on 600 students who are first and second year student of two high schools in metropolitan province, and 547 were used for final analysis among the data. The collected data are analyzed into correlation analysis and structural equation modeling analysis, by using SPSS and AMOS 18.0 program, and it used maximum likelihood as parameter estimation method. It implemented Sobel test to verify mediating effects of ego resiliency about relationship between overprotection of mother and depression and anxiety of high shcool students.
As the results of the researches, at first, in case of examining correlation between overprotection of mother and ego resiliency, depression, and anxiety of high school students, this study found that there is negative correlation between the overprotection of mother and the factors of ego resiliency of high school students, there is positive correlation between the overprotection of mother and the factors of depression and anxiety of high school students, and there is negative correlation between ego resilience of high school students and the factors of depression and anxiety of them.
Second, as the results of analyzing structural causality among each variable to verify research model of this study, although both of full mediation model and partial mediation model is suitable for the research model of this study, this study confirmed it is more suitable that the partial mediation model includes all of the paths that the overprotection of mother influences depression and anxiety of high school students through a mediation of ego resiliency of high school students and the overprotection of mother influence directly depression and anxiety. Indeed, this study found that the overprotection of mother not only influence directly the depression and anxiety of high school students but also it could influence indirectly them through ego resiliency of high school students.
Third, as the result of verifying mediation effects of the ego resiliency in the process in which the overprotection of mother affects depression and anxiety of high school students, this study found the indirect effects of a path from the overprotection of mother to the ego resiliency and to the depression are meaningful and also the indirect effects of another path from the overprotection of mother to the ego resiliency and to the anxiety are meaningful, so that it could identify that the ego resiliency could become a role of mediation in the process of that the overprotection of mother influences the depression and anxiety of high school students.
Based on the researches, core contents of this study could be summarized to that the overprotection of mother has negative effects directly on depression and anxiety of their children who are high school students, also it has negative effects on depression and anxiety through the mediation of ego resiliency, and the ego resiliency could be partial mediation between the overprotection of mother and the depression and anxiety of high school students.
