The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of flow and athletic satisfaction to motivation of college soccer players.
Participants were 250 soccer players who attended at Gwang-ju, Jeon-nam in university and completed questionnaires. Total 225 data were used, except for 25 data which is missing items and lack of inconsistence.
The data was conducted descriptive analysis, exploratory factor analysis, Cronbach alpha, correlation, one-way MANOVA. Multiple regressions and path analysis were used to analyze relationships between flow and athlete satisfaction to motivation. A level of significance was set at p<.05.
The results indicate that firstly, there were no difference among flow, athlete satisfaction, and motivation by grade.
Secondly, main player showed a high level in motivation, flow, and athlete satisfaction.
Thirdly, the defender was high in flow and motivation, and the offender revealed highly in athlete satisfaction.
Fourthly, excellent player whose lots of winning experience carried out a high level of flow, athlete satisfaction, and motivation.
Finally, the motivation is directly related to flow, and is positively related to athlete satisfaction through flow of mediate variance. However, there was no significant emotion is directly influence to athlete satisfaction.
