Medical tourism is recongnized as a new growth engine which is highly expected to drive the development of national economy and the industry related to it and to create employment through the creation of high value-added services, it can be very meaningful to reinigorate such medical tourism, and study the professionals related to this who wil lead the industry.The purpose of this study is to provide basic materials for making the related departments competitive in the future by having the college students of the departments related to medical toursim regcognize the importance of Major Selection Motivation and by raising Degree of Major Satisfaction and Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy among them.
This study targeted the 223 college students attending the medical tourism related departments of a total of 5 colleges (two-year and three-year junior colleges, and four-year universities included), and regarding data processing, frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, multiple regression analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis were carried out by using SPSS18.0 program. Results of the study are as follows. First, as a result of the analysis of whether Major Selection Motivation of the students had effects on Degree of Major Satisfaction and Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy, it was found that the intrinsic motivation
factors of Major Selection Motivation had a positive (+) effect on Degree of Major Satisfaction, while the extrinsic motivation factors of Major Selection
Motivation of sub-factors of Degree of Major Satisfaction had a positive (+) effect on Curriculum Satisfaction. Therefore, this study seeks to suggest that intrinsic motivation is an important factor increasing Degree of Major Satisfaction and it is thought that there is need for career guidance based on the individuals' interests, aptitudes, and understanding in high school education.
Second, the analysis showed that intrinsic motivation, one of the sub-factors of Major Selection Motivation had a significantly positive (+) effect on Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy. Therefore, this study seeks to suggest that intrinsic motivation is an important factor increasing Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy, and it is thought that there is need for thorough planning and preparation for a career so that the courses of major selection and career decision can be well connected.
Third, it was found that recognition Satisfaction, training Satisfaction, and curriculum Satisfaction of sub-factors of Degree of Major Satisfaction had a
positive (+) effect on Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy. Therefore, this study seeks to suggest that recognition Satisfaction, training Satisfaction,
and curriculum Satisfaction are important factors increasing Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy, and it is thought that there is need for a lot of efforts and support in the related departments for increasing the degree of the satisfaction of the students.
Fourth, the factors that affected Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy most were intrinsic motivation, training Satisfaction, and recognition Satisfaction. Therefore, it is important that related departments should recruit new
students by making a comprehensive evaluation of their personalities or values, application motives, and academic enthusiasms as well as their academic aptitudes. In addition, there is need for seeking after various
methods to increase the efficiency of practical education, and it is thought that efforts are needed to raise a positive social awareness about the major.
