한국사회 다문화가정 자녀의 자아 정체성에 관한 연구

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In some recent years, international marriage has been increasing rapidly and multicultural families make up quite a large population of Korean society. However, the concept of multiculturalism in Korea has yet to reach the stage where people can discuss how to accept different cultural groups into a society. This study on multicultural issues in Korea is going to discuss the alternative solutions by closely looking at the multicultural families in Korea and especially self-esteem conflicts they are confronting.
Mostly, children from multicultural families are not only facing some of the difficulties from identity conflicts towards themselves, but also experiencing identity conflicts caused by their parents, their friends or even their friends' parents. During this study, I tried to suggest the alternative solutions to help them not to face these difficulties.
The first solution is that we should help the children to develop healthy self-esteem. Second, it is necessary to offer a certain education to their parents. Third, we need to have a multicultural education for the peer group and the peer group's parents.
Children from multicultural backgrounds should benefit in the future by overcoming their self -esteem struggles and from having developed their bilingual advantages, and I believe that they will be a part of important resources in Korea and precious international professionals for the global world.
