      Accounting education and teacher's awareness
      in the pre-school

      ABSTRACT

      In this research, it's aimed to look over the actual situation for the activities of 'Accounting Education' and teacher's awareness in the preschool which all being proceeds in the country. According to the previous related researches showing that accounting ability depends on the children's ages, I go over if the teacher's awareness and attitude for activities of 'Accounting Education' have different aspects. Regarding the activities of childhood accounting, it's expected that Accounting activities will be practiced properly in the field when it comes that teacher's awareness is reconsidered and accompanied by extensive interest and research about age-based teaching method.
      The questions for the research purpose are following.
      Subject 1- The actual situation for the activities of accounting education by teachers in the pre-school?
      Subject 2- The teachers' awareness for accounting activities in the pre-school?
      As the research method, the actual situation and teacher's awareness in the preschool had been investigated with 202 teachers in total who are working in the 'Kyungnam' area. The survey were comprised of 3 categories and 40 questions in total: teacher's background (5), educational situation of the preschool in actual (17), teacher's awareness in accounting education (18), which were analyzed by 'Frequency Analysis' and 'Chi-squared test' according to their actual situation and awareness.
      At the result for the this study, firstly when we looked into the children's accounting activities in the field, teachers in each grade at the preschools have practiced well the direct or repetitive accounting activities like accounting subjects, accounting with speaking or calculating while considering their ages of children. On the other hand, almost teachers has the lack of planning and evaluating activities, teacher's training.
      Secondly, when we investigated the teacher's awareness teaching accounting activities for the childhood, teachers recognized the importance of accounting activities regarded basically but showed the lack of knowhow about accounting education's skill while appealing for the demands on a variety of curriculums and speaking difficulties in planning and evaluating accounting activities.
