Education for the related professional manpower is essential factor for the successful Green-Tourism. A few preceding studies have been conducted to figure out on the specific curriculum of Green-Tourism education. However, there has been no systemic research about the trait and correlation between education and farm income. Therefore, this study is to analyze cognitive characteristics, education effect, and its correlation with farm income, on trainees who finished Green-Tourism education of Gyeongsangbukdo Province. This study explores with three independent factors; education attitude, education program, and Green-Tourism environment.
The analysis results of cognitive characteristics of Green-Tourism Education are as bellows.
First, the main participants to the education are 50’s men, part time farmer, and returned highly educated farmer. It shows that the demand of rural area on the Green-Tourism is increasing steadily.
Second, the interest and awareness on Green-Tourism have been rising fast. Public service from Agricultural technology center and Korea rural community corporation, have been expanded on the Green-Tourism education, and usually trainees get the information from media and farmers associations.
Third, the trainee has highly motivated at the beginning level, but correspondingly satisfaction level is lower after finishing the program. It is supposed that they have highly recognition on the natural resources but lack of understanding on infrastructure and Green-Tourism of rural area.
The analysis effect and performance of Green-Tourism education are as follows.
First, the effect of Green-Tourism education has analyzed in three areas; knowledge, practice, and social effect. For knowledge effect, there are positive relationships between learning motivation, performance self-efficacy, trainer ability, education contents, and prospect for Green-Tourism business. For practice effect, there are positive relationships between learning motivation, trainer ability, education contents, and prospect for Green-Tourism business. For social effect, there are positive relationships between career developments, career of Green-Tourism business.
Second, Green-Tourism education effect to 11.98% increase of the income on average. The factors on increase of the income are career development, performance self-efficacy, natural resources, gender, age, prospect for Green-Tourism, Green-Tourism business experience, and rural village development project participation. Knowledge of relevant areas, practice, and social effect as Green-Tourism education effect, are significant effect on increase of the income in rural area.
Based on the results, following suggestions can be presented regarding consolidation of competitive power and reinforcing methods of Green-Tourism Education,
First, for consolidation of competitive power of Green-Tourism, it needs the policy for start up business and increase of the income of 50's returned farmer in Green-Tourism area, and an educational institution for systematic education program and HRD of Green-Tourism.
Second, for reinforcing of Green-Tourism education, it needs qualitative improvement of education program through development of curriculum in order, professional instructors with ample experience. In addition, it needs local based education and spread to various educational institutions.
