The purposes of this study were first, to examine differences in the level of sport club participation, acceptance of disability, and sociality according to social demographic characteristics; second, to examine effect of the level of sport club participation on acceptance of disability; third, to examine whether the level of sport club participation influence sociality; fourth, to examine effect of acceptance of disability of the physically disabled who participated in sport club on sociality.
In order to achieve this goal, purposeful sampling method widely used among non-probability sampling methods was used to select physically disabled who use welfare facilities for the physically disabled and sports centers in 2 areas(Gyeonggi-do and Chungcheongnam-do) and extract 330 questionnaires in total. Out of 330 materials, 316 were used for the final significant samples for this research except 14 questionnaires that had some omission and untrustworthy answers. As for survey tool for research, questionnaires used for previous studies were modified and supplemented to be used. As for procedure of survey, researcher fully explained the purpose and goal of the study and asked for prior consent and cooperation. For analysis of surveyed data, SPSS Window version 19.0 program was used for computer processing, and the result of frequency analysis, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis is as follows:
First, according to individual background variables (age, sex, type of disability, cause of disability, level of disability) of the physically disabled, there were partial differences in the level of sport club participation, acceptance of disability, and sociality. To see in detail, there were differences in the level of sport club participation according to age, type of disability, and level of disability; there were differences in acceptance of disability according to sex, type of disability, and level of disability; and there were differences in sociality according to age, type of disability, cause of disability, level of disability.
Second, the level of sport club participation of the physically disabled partially influenced sub-factors of acceptance of disability.
Third, the level of sport club participation of the physically disabled partially influenced sub-factors of sociality.
Fourth, the acceptance of disability of the physically disabled partially influenced sub-factors of sociality.
The significance of this study would be found in that it can help the physically disabled to participate in sport club activities, and improve quality of life and enhance inner psychological values to play for positive performance of their roles.
