This study was conducted to transform the local coordinate system to the world coordinate system using the existing coordinate transformation method and to verify its accuracy through field survey. In addition, an additional coordinate transformation and analysis were conducted based on the result of the analysis to suggest the method of improving the accuracy of coordinate transformation. The results of the study are as below.
The 13,292-thousand-meter-wide areas, 14 consolidated lands of 5,369 lots with 307 cadastral maps, which are located in Boeun-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, were selected for an experimental study on transformation of the local coordinate system to the world coordinate system. After producing the coordinate transformation parameters using the observation data of the GNSS control points, coordinates were transformed.
As a result of the first transformation, it was found that the average standard deviations of coordinate transformation for 307 cadastral maps, except Hakrim District, were X=0.05m and Y=0.05m which was a very favorable result. However, there were some differences occurred according to the application of the control point on each district. As a result of analysis using newly established standing points on the displacement of Hakrim District whose control points disappeared at the time of the study, it was confirmed that its average standard deviations are X=0.30m and Y=0.13m, which implied that the control points are influential.
As a result of analyzing districts that were consolidated at two different times, the average standard deviations were X=0.05m and Y=0.05m which was a favorable result. However, in the cadastral maps, map bias (standard deviation: X=0.09m, Y=0.10m) was found according to map matching of each district.
Based on the result of the first analysis, 20 points of four districts in Wolsong District were selected using transformed coordinates and actual coordinates as the second common point and four common points that are located in the outskirts of the districts were designated. As a result of the subject analysis using the field points after transforming the second world coordinates, it was found that the distances from the points where the field boundaries were recovered became slightly narrowed and the surface area was also minutely changed.
In conclusion, the results of the first world coordinate transformation are within the error range only with the control points. However, if the second world coordinate transformation is conducted using the actual field points, considering the location of points recovered on the field and the proximity of the drawings transformed to world coordinates, the accuracy of surface area calculation is expected to improve.
