This study is to look into influences in job satisfaction and organizational commitment by dividing emotional labor into deep acting, surface acting, and emotional dissonance.
The questionnaire used to this research is from employees working in beauty service industry located in metropolitan area for November 15 ~ 23, 2013, and the study uses 256 copies, exempting uncollected and false answers after distributing 280 copies.
When looking at verified results through the empirical study, the conclusions are as follows;
First, emotional labor of beauty service employees appear to have partial influences to job satisfaction. Surface acting as sub-scope of emotional labor is not shown to have influences, but deep acting and emotional dissonance are displayed as having influences. That is, for employees who have positive, psychologically stable stability, the gap is not large between emotion in mind and actions. Employees with self-control are turned out to have high job satisfactions relatively.
Second, emotional labor of beauty service is proved not to have significant influences to organizational commitment. Though deep acting as sub-factor of emotional labor affects significant influences, surface acting and emotional dissonance dose not show significant influences.
Thirdly, emotional labor of beauty service is shown to have significant influences to job satisfaction and organizational commitment directly and indirectly.
Employees with high job satisfaction reveal positive results on work performances. Their job satisfactions are connected to organizational commitment, and are so positive to affect customer satisfaction that business performances of the organization may be maximized.
Through the research results, this study considers a fact that the degree of emotional labor in beauty service will affect very important influences to clients as well as beauty service employees. Therefore, more concerns on managing sentimental and emotional factors for increasing job satisfaction and work commitment have to be considered.
