태극기 원리에 대한 인식실태 연구 : 주역의 개념을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문에서는 동양학의 원리와 주역의 관점에서 태극기 학위 논문을 작성한다는 것과, 대한민국을 구성하는 여러 분야의 사람들이 태극기를 인식하고 있는 것의 오류가 무엇이고, 어떠한 방향으로 태극기에 대한 교육이 되어져야하는 것을 다양한 설문대상자들의 설문결과를 통하여 밝히고, 대한민국 국민으로서 당연히 알아야 할 태극기에 대한 올바른 이해와, 구태여 애국심까지 논하는 것은 아니더라도 태극기의 제작 원리를 정확하게 이해시킬 수 있게 하는 것이 본 논문의 목적이고, 이 목적을 달성하기 위해서, 우리나라 국민들의 태극기에 관한 인식과 지식의 정도를 설문지를 통하여 분석하고, 우리나라 국민들의 태극기에 대한 인식실태를 정확하게 연구 분석하고 그 결과에 따른 우리나라 국민들에게 태극기에 대한 교육방향과 대책을 제시 할 수 있도록 하는 방법으로 연구를 하고자 한다. 이는 동양학과 경영학을 접목하는 뜻 깊은 일이며 책임감 또한 느껴진다. 본 논문에서는 우리나라 민족문화를 결합한 태극기의 우수성을 차례로 밝혀나가도록 하였다.

또 본인이 작성하여 배포하여 조사한 설문지조사를 종합하면, 태극기 지식과 태극기 교육 수준은 아무런 상관관계가 없으며, 태극기에 대한 관심이 높다고 해서 태극기에 대한 지식이 높은 것은 아니라는 것을 알 수 있었고, 학력이 높을수록 태극기에 대한 지식수준은 높은 것으로 나타났고, 직업별로 살펴보면 공무원이 가장 높고, 그 다음으로 학생 (초등학생, 중고생), 회사원 순으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 소득 수준이 높을수록 태극기에 대한 지식수준은 낮은 것으로 나타난 것을 보면, 결국 태극기에 대한 교육이 없었다는 점이다.

그동안 공무원, 학생 등은 그나마도 직장과 학교에서 꾸준히 태극기에 대한 교육이 실시됨을 알 수 있고, 그에 따른 우리나라에 대한 애국심도 고취되고 있는 점을 알 수 있다. 과연 우리 조상들이 중요하게 생각하고 후대인 우리들에게 계승하고자 했던 태극에 대한 정신은 과연 무엇이며, 구한말의 혼란스럽고 급변하는 세계정세 속에서 찾아낸 태극기의 진정한 가치와 의미에 대하여, 본인은 앞으로 체계적으로, 초․중등교육과정에서 뿐만 아니라, 고등학교 과정에서도, 또 대입입시과정에서도 반드시 태극기에 대한 올바른 교육이 포함되어야 된다고 보고, 또 각각의 언론매체에서 좀 더 태극기에 대한 홍보를 적극적으로 하여, 애국심을 고취시키는데 앞장서야 한다고 생각한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purposes of this paper are to make clear the preparation of a thesis on Taegeukgi in the viewpoints of Oriental studies and the book of changes, and the errors in the awareness of Taegeukgi of people in many fields who constitute the Republic of Korea, and the right direction of education on Taegeukgi through the survey of diversified surveying objects and to educate people the right contents of Taegeukgi that Koreans must know and the principle of Taegeukgi though the patriotism is not mentioned. To achieve this purpose Koreans' awareness and knowledge on Taegeukgi were analyzed through questionnaires, and Koreans' awareness condition of Taegeukgi is accurately studied and analyzed, and the direction of education and measures are to be suggested following the result. It is meaningful to graft Oriental studies to business adminstration and the sense of responsibility is felt too. In this paper the excellence of Taegeukgi that combines our national culture is to be made clear step by step.

According to the survey of mine there is no correlation between the knowledge of Taegeukgi and the education level of Taegeukgi; the deep interest in Taegeukgi does not mean deep understanding of Taegeukgi; as the academic career is more, the knowledge level in Taegeukgi is higher; as far as the occupation is concerned, the highest is public officials and students (elementary school students and middle school students) and company staffs the lowest in order. Lastly, as the level of income becomes higher the level in knowledge on Taegeukgi becomes lower; it indicates that there has been no education on Taegeukgi.

It is understood that public officials and students have been educated consistently on Taegeukgi in work places and schools and their patriotism has been enhanced accordingly. The education on the spirit of Taegeuk that our ancestors thought important and wanted to pass to descendants and the true meaning and value of Taegeukgi that they found in the midst of confusing and rapidly changing world situations in the late Period of Chosun must be made not only in the curricula of elementary school and middle school but in the curriculum of high school; furthermore, in college admission process Taegeukgi must be reflected. And all the mass media must do PR on Taegeukgi actively to inspire patriotism, I think.
