소비에트 Red Dior의 패션디자인 특성에 대한 연구 = (A) study on the characteristics of Red Dior fashion design in Soviet Russia

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 20세기 소련의 정치·경제·사회·문화·예술·패션에 대한 이해를 기초로 하여 소련을 대표하는 디자이너인 레드 디올(Red Dior), 슬라바 자이체프 패션디자인의 조형성과 조형미를 살펴보는데 목적이 있다. 러시아 패션에 대한 연구 특히 레드 디올에 대한 연구는 국내에 거의 전무함으로 본 연구가 가지는 의의는 크다. 또한 본 연구는 소비에트 시대의 정치·경제·사회·문화·예술에 대한 전반적인 이해의 기초 자료로 활용됨으로써, 러시아의 패션에 대한 이해의 폭을 넓힐 것으로 사료된다.
본 연구는 20세기 소비에트의 시대적·예술적 배경과 소비에트 패션디자인의 특성을 국내외의 문헌자료를 중심으로 하여 살펴보았다. 그리고 레드 디올 패션디자인의 조형성과 조형미는 레드 디올 자서전에 수록된 작품사진과 국외 인터넷 시각자료 등을 통하여 분석하였다.
레드 디올 패션디자인의 조형성을 실루엣, 색채, 소재, 문양, 액세서리 등을 중심으로 분석한 결과, 기하학적 직선 구성과 곡선의 주름 활용, 원색대비 선호, 다양한 소재의 활용, 전통 문양의 수용, 다양한 액세서리의 활용 등의 조형적 특성을 보였다.
위와 같은 레드 디올 패션디자인의 조형성 분석을 통하여 다음과 같은 네 가지 조형미를 도출할 수 있었다.
첫째, 러시아 전통문화에 대한 자긍심이다. 레드 디올은 러시아 전통문화에 대한 자부심이 상당하며, 러시아의 전통문화를 보존하고 부흥시키려 노력했다. 그는 전통복식을 통해 전 세계에 러시아의 권위와 위대함을 상기시키고 국력을 알리고자 하였다.
둘째, 러시아 민속복식에 대한 향수이다. 레드 디올은 러시아의 예술과 문화가 녹아있는 민속복식을 재현하며, 러시아 국민의 강한 민족적 기질을 나타내고자 하였다. 이러한 배경에는 그의 러시아 다차 문화에 대한 사랑이 깔려있으며, 자연 그대로의 아름다움을 추구한 것을 엿볼 수 있었다.
셋째, 사회주의 이념의 반영이다. 레드 디올은 사회주의 이념과 개인의 창조성을 반영한 새로운 패션스타일을 창조하였고, 이는 러시아 현대 패션의 기틀을 마련하였다.
넷째, 유럽 패션 존중이다. 레드 디올은 타문화 수용에 있어서 제한적이기는 하지만 타민족의 문화를 존중하고자 하였다. 그는 러시아 전통복식에 대한 지속적이고 한결같은 발표를 통해 자국 전통문화에 대한 존경과 자긍심의 메시지를 전하였다.
이상과 같이 레드 디올의 작품세계는 러시아의 과거, 현재, 미래의 모든 것을 담고 있다. ‘레드 디올’은 공산주의 국가에 나타난 ‘붉은’ 혁명성을 패션으로 승화시켜 당시 유럽 패션디자이너의 상징이었던 ‘디올’과 견줄만한 인물로 평가되었다. 그의 작품은 러시아 전통문화에 대한 깊은 사랑과 자긍심을 토대로 하여 지극히 러시아적인 특성을 가지고 있다. 레드 디올은 러시아를 대표하는 패션디자이너로 현재까지도 러시아의 패션 발전에 지대한 영향을 미치고 있다는 점에서 러시아 패션에 대한 이해를 위해 본 연구의 의의가 크다. 본 연구를 시작으로 향후 국내에서도 러시아 패션에 대한 연구가 활발하게 이루어지기를 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This thesis examines the formativeness and the formative beauty of the fashion design of Slava Zaitsev ‘Red Dior’ on the basis of theoretical understanding on Soviet politics, economics, society, culture, arts, and fashion of twentieth century.
The study represents an important pioneering effort, as there are no previous studies on Russian fashion especially on Red Dior. Therefore, the study will broaden and deepen the understanding of Russian fashion while providing new perspectives.
The study reviewed a wide range of domestic and foreign references on characteristics of Soviet artistic background of twentieth century and Soviet fashion design. In addition, the formativeness and the formative beauty of ‘Red Dior’ fashion design was carefully analyzed by examining visual materials, for example, the photos from Slava Zaitsev’s autobiography and the Internet worldwide.
Analyzing the formativeness of Red Dior fashion design by silhouettes, colors, materials, patterns, accessories, five formativeness features - application of geometric structure of straight lines and curve pleats, preference of color contrast, utilization of various materials, acceptance of traditional patterns, usage of diverse accessories- were shown.
By analyzing the formativeness of Red Dior above, four formative beauty features were deduced.
First feature is the pride of Russian traditional culture. Red Dior was very proud of Russian traditional culture and exerted great efforts to preserve and revive Russian traditional culture.
Second feature is nostalgia of Russian traditional costume. Red Dior reproduced traditional costume, which reflects high standard of Russian arts and culture and also produced his costume with strong ethnic component. All these efforts show his deep affection of Russian Dacha culture and a beauty of the nature.
Third feature is the reflection of Socialism. Red Dior created innovative fashion style, which reflects Socialist Ideology and individual creativity and paved the way for Russian modern fashion.
Fourth feature is the respect of European fashions. Red Dior respected and accepted other cultures, but it remained limited.
In conclusion, the work of Red Dior shows the past, the preset, and the future of Russia fashion. ‘Red Dior’ sublimated ‘Red’ revolutionary Socialist spirit to fashion and highly appreciated as Russian ‘Dior’ who was the symbol of European fashion designer that time. The works of Red Dior presented deep affections and proud of Russian traditional culture and displayed nature of Russian traditional culture and arts. As Red Dior is one of the representative Russian fashion designers and still has strong influence on Russian fashion development, this study is full of meaningful suggestions. The author hereby expect to broaden and deepen the study on Russian fashion in the near future with my first step toward Russian fashion study.
