The purpose of this study is to find out food purchasing behavior and selection attributes in department store and discount store. A total of 240 valid questionaries were collected for data processing. The surveys were carried out by food market consumers at the department and discount stores. The SPSS 21.0 statistics program was used to analyze of following: Frequency analysis, factor analysis, χ² analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, and ANOVA. The results were as follows: There are differences in the demographical characteristics and general characteristics of consumers from the department and discount stores. Also, through the t-test difference and ANOVA difference analysis, the consumers' demographics such as age, occupation, and family types influenced the customers' food purchasing behavior and selection attributes at the department and discount stores.
