The purpose of this study was to investigate a structural relationships among the related variables of school-aged positive conflict resolution strategies. The subjects for this study were 836 of 5th and 6th grade children residing in Yeongcheon-Si, Gyeongsan-Si and Daegu completed questionnaires assessing children's positive conflict resolution strategies(integration and compromising strategies, obliging strategies), empathy, emotional expressiveness and parent-adolescent open communication perceived by children.
The sample variance-covariance matrix was analysed using AMOS 20.0. And Maximum likelihood estimation method was used to model fit. Goodness of fit was evaluated using the SRMR, RMSEA and its 90% confidence interval, CFI, and TLI.
The results found in this study were as follows:
First, children's empathy, emotional expressiveness and parent-adolescent open communication perceived by children were found to affect children's integration and compromising strategies directly.
Children's empathy and emotional expressiveness perceived by children were found to affect children's obliging strategies directly. but children's parent-adolescent open communication perceived by children were not found to affect children's obliging strategies directly.
Second, children's parent-adolescent open communication perceived by children were found to affect children's empathy and emotional expressiveness directly.
Third, children's empathy perceived by children were found to affect children's emotional expressiveness directly.
