The purpose of this research is to identify the relationship among perceived parental rearing attitude, disconnection/Rejection schema and interpersonal relationship problems, depression of high school students. Based on previous findings, this study examined dual mediation role of disconnection/Rejection schema and interpersonal relationship problems between perceived parental rearing attitude and depression of high school students. The participants of this study included 345 high school students in Gyeongnam(Average age 16.86, Male 104, Female 241). For data analysis, the use of correlational analysis, multiple regression, Structural Equational Modeling(SEM), and model verification.
The result indicate that perceived parental rearing attitude were significantly negatively affect depression. While disconnection/Rejection schema and interpersonal relationship problems were significantly positively affect depression. The results of SEM showed that the relation between perceived parental rearing attitude and depression of high school students were partially mediated by a disconnection/Rejection schema and interpersonal relationship problems.
The findings of the current research may benefit counseling settings by finding effective intervention strategies in the treatment of chronic depression.
