This study is to investigate the effect of turnover intention on emotional labor strategies in the services industry. Also, it is to search for the moderate effect perceived organizational support and extraversion.
The data had been gathered from the survey given to members working and call center employee in the service industry in Korea. Total of 331 surveys were examined to verify the hypothesis.
This study verified three hypothesis based in the conceptual definition and previous researches as follow: Firstly, the study tested the effect on turnover intention of emotional labor strategies. Secondly, the study tested the purpose of lowering the turnover intention, how perceived organizational support moderate the relation between emotional labor strategies and turnover intention. Finally,
the study tested also how extraversion moderate the relation between emotional labor strategies and turnover intention.
The research finding by the analysis in this empirical study are summarized as follow: First, the findings through the hypothesis test on Surface acting of the strategies of emotional labor have showed a positive effect on turnover intention, Deep acting of the strategies of emotional labor have showed a negative effect on turnover intention. Second, the results showed that perceived organizational support does not have a moderating effect between surface acting and turnover intention, but significant results showed moderating effect between deep acting and turnover intention. Third, the results showed that extraversion does not have a moderating effect between emotional labor strategies and turnover intention.
At last, these results of empirical analysis have suggested the theoretical and practical implication, and the direction of its future studies.
