모바일 인스턴트 메신저를 활용한 교사-부모 의사소통 현황과 인식 = The Present Condition Concerned with the Communication between Teachers and Children's Parents Through Mobile Instant Messengers and Their Understanding of Them

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 교사의 교사-부모 간 모바일 인스턴트 메신저에 대한 현황과 인식을 살펴봄으로써 교사-부모 간 효과적인 의사소통 방안을 모색하는데 기초자료로 제공하고자 한다. 본 연구에서 설정된 구체적인 문제는 다음과 같다.

1. 모바일 인스턴트 메신저를 활용한 교사-부모 의사소통 현황은 어떠한가?
2. 모바일 인스턴트 메신저를 활용한 교사-부모 의사소통에 대한 교사의 인식은 어떠한가?

본 연구는 서울특별시와 경기도 지역 유아교육기관(유치원, 어린이집)에 소속된 교사 340명 중 모바일 인스턴트 메신저를 활용한 교사 164명만을 대상으로 하였다. 연구도구는 선행연구들을 참고하여 연구자가 연구목적에 맞게 수정․보완하여 사용하였다. 모바일 인스턴트 메신저를 활용한 교사-부모 의사소통 현황과 인식을 알아보기 위하여 2013년 10월 4일부터 25일까지 우편, 이메일을 이용하여 설문조사를 하였다. 수집된 설문자료의 분석을 위하여 연구문제에 따라 기술통계, 검증, Fisher의 정확 검증, 일원변량분석(One-Way ANOVA) 및 사후검증 Scheff'e을 실시하였다. 이에 주요 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 모바일 인스턴트 메신저를 활용한 교사-부모 의사소통 현황에 있어 유아교육현장에서 절반의 교사들이 모바일 인스턴트 메신저를 사용하였다. 대부분이 카카오톡을 사용하고 있었고 주 5회 이상 의사소통을 한다는 응답이 가장 많았다. 주로 등․하원 시간 전/후나 정규 수업 시간 후에 부모와 메신저로 의사소통하고 있었으며, 주고받는 정보로 유아의 결석이 가장 높게 나타났다. 교사들은 모바일 인스턴트 메신저를 활용한 의사소통에서 급작스런 상황 시 신속하고 용이한 연락을 장점으로, 사생활이 보호되지 않는다는 점을 단점으로 보았다. 유아교사들의 배경변인에 따른 모바일 인스턴트 메신저를 활용한 부모와의 의사소통 빈도와 효과는 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았으나 모바일 인스턴트 메신저를 활용하는 시간과 불편한 점에 있어서는 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 따라서 모바일 인스턴트 메신저를 활용한 교사-부모 의사소통은 사전의 명확한 지침을 마련해 교사-부모 간 상호합의가 이루어져야 하며, 이에 대한 부모교육이 시행되어야 할 것이다.
둘째, 모바일 인스턴트 메신저를 활용한 교사-부모 의사소통에 대한 교사의 인식에 있어, 교사들은 모바일 인스턴트 메신저 사용 시 부모와 교사 간 상호합의가 전제 되어야 한다는 점을 가장 중요하게 여겼으며, 부모가 보내는 잦은 모바일 인스턴트 메신저에 매우 부담을 느꼈다. 유아교사들의 배경변인에 따른 모바일 인스턴트 메신저를 활용한 교사-부모 의사소통에 대한 인식에서는 기술적 측면, 기능적 측면 문항에서 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 따라서 교사의 모바일 인스턴트 메신저에 대한 인식을 높일 수 있도록 모바일 인스턴트 메신저에 관한 교사 연수가 이루어져야하고, 유아교육현장에 맞는 모바일 인스턴트 메신저 개발이 필요할 것이다.
이상의 결과에 따른 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 모바일 인스턴트 메신저 활용을 위해서는 유아교사들의 배경변인에 따른 특성과 요구를 고려한 지원책이 마련되어야 한다. 둘째, 모바일 인스턴트 메신저의 실행을 위하여 학부모의 인식 개선을 위한 부모교육 및 홍보가 필요할 것이다. 셋째, 모바일 인스턴트 메신저의 현황에 대한 교사의 어려움과 지원 요구를 고려하여 유아교육현장에 맞는 모바일 인스턴트 메신저 개발이 마련되어야 한다. 넷째, 교사들이 모바일 인스턴트 메신저를 편리하게 사용할 수 있도록 물적, 인적 지원 등 기관 내 여건 조성이 이루어져야 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

It is the purpose of the study to provide basic materials for seeking the effective communicating methods between teachers and parents through investigating the present condition of utilizing mobile instant messengers between them and their understanding of them. The concrete themes are as followings;

1. What is the present condition of their communication utilizing mobile instant messengers?
2. What is teachers' understanding of their communication with children's parents utilizing mobile instant messengers?

A total of 164 teachers among 340 teachers who work at nursery education institutions(kindergartens and nursery homes) in Seoul and Gyeonggido took part in the study, who are now utilizing mobile instant messengers. And the tools used for the study were adapted according to the purpose on the basis of the previous studies. In order to find out the realities, a survey was conducted with mail and e-mail from Oct. 4th to 25th, 2013. For the analysis of the collected data, the following ways were used in accordance with each theme: Technical Statistic Analysis, Test, Fisher's Exact Test, One-Way ANOVA, and Scheffe Test as a post test. The results are as followings;
First, half of teachers who work at the nursery education field utilizes mobile instant messengers with regard to communicating with parents, and most of them said that they make use of Kakao Talk, more than five times a week. They usually communicate with parents before children's departure to schools or after their departure to home, or after the regular classes through the messengers; And the main informations they communicate are related to the children's absence. Teachers pointed out that it is the merit of mobile instant messengers that they can easily cope with an emergent situation, but it is demerit of them that their private lives are not protected. The communication frequency and effect according to the teachers' background variables do not show any significant difference, but there are significant difference in terms of the hour spent on utilizing the messengers and its inconvenient factors. Therefore, it is necessary to make a definite guideline for the communication through the messengers with parents; It should be done on the basis of the consent between teachers and parents, and the teaching programme for parents concerned it should be conducted.
Second, it is found out that teachers considered it most important that when they utilize the mobile instant messengers the mutual consent between them should come first, and they feel burdensome owing to the frequent mobile messages from parents. There are significant differences in both technical and functional factors in terms of the understanding of their communication utilizing the mobile instant messengers. Therefore, teaching of teachers about the mobile instant messengers is necessary for making their understanding of it higher, and it is also necessary for developing the mobile instant messengers suitable for the nursery education field.
From the above results, we can consider the following respects; First, in order to use the mobile instant messengers there should be supporting measures in consideration of teachers' characteristics and demands according to their background variables. Second, for the activating of the mobile instant messengers, teaching of parents and public relations are necessary to improve their thinking way about it. Third, the mobile instant messengers suitable for the field of nursery education should be developed, considering teachers' difficult and their demands. Fourth, the proper conditions should be created within the institutions for teachers to comfortably utilize the mobile instant messengers.
