This writing is from the diachronic viewpoint and looks at the changed process of the sound rule of the eliminated /ㄹ/ from the middle Korean period to the modern national language and is the study of the reason for the turn up of the eliminated phenomenon of /ㄹ/ with the modern national language.
The elimination of /ㄹ/ in the middle Korean period was used to form the word and use in the predicate and came before the endings starting with /ㄴ, ㄷ, ㅅ, ㅿ, ㅈ/. However, transitions into the modern national language from the modern language the rule started to change gradually and is only used as a predicate, today. The elimination of /ㄹ/ in the modern national language, the stem word /ㄹ/ comes in front of the ending with the initial sound of the syllable with /ㄴ, ㅅ/, in front of courtesy prefinal endings ‘-오/옵-’, and in front of the final endings ’-오‘ of ‘하오체’. Also, the stem word /ㄹ/ that came in front of respective main agents with prefinal endings ‘-?시/으시-’ in the middle Korean period, became eliminated with ‘-으-’when coming into the modern national language.
The rules of use for the phenomenon of the /ㄹ/ elimination has had a different scale of change in each period, but the majority of this study has been in the synchronic viewpoint with most of the debate focused on one period. However, the phenomenon of the /ㄹ/ elimination with the foundation of a diachronic study should be well handled as one memory-mapped with the aspects of the changes in each period. Therefore, this writing is to divide the phenomenon of the /ㄹ/ elimination in each period to diachronically discuss the changes and process in each.
The theoretical matter of the phenomenomon of the /ㄹ/ elimination is the dominating phonology that introduced the dominating concept fromm the magnetism phonology. Dominating phonology explains the preceding final syllable /ㄹ/ and phonological phenomenon shown by the chain reaction of the following syllables through the dominating relationship between the two phonemes. Here, the dominating principle is accordingly from the morpheme lines of the solid systems of the preceding and following syllables. Especially, when the location of articulation of the two preceding and following syllables are alike, according to the principle of magnetismm, the stronger senter tone avoids the subect tone /ㄹ/, which possesses alike elements and eliminates it.
Also, when transitions into the modern national language, the phenomenon of /ㄹ/ elimination has several phenomenons with the need of morphologic techniques besides the phonological technique. In other words, it is the phenomenon of the stem word /ㄹ/ eliminated at the beginning of courtesy prefinal ending ‘-오/옵-’ and final endings '-오' of '하오체.' These are the fossilized forms of the word form left in the modern national language from pervious periods. This study looked carefully at the elimination at /ㄹ/ and its related fossilized forms to look at the distribution methods of these fossilized forms in each dialect and to discuss the unique circumstances of the elimination of /ㄹ/ shown in specific locations through dialect books.
