태권도 세계화에 따른 어린이 태권도 시범사 연구 = A study on the History of Children,s Taekwondo Demonstrations by Globalizing Taekwondo

This study is aim to recognize the importance of Taekwondo demonstration in the process of Taekwondo globalization. Also, by considering the meaning of historical events of children's Taekwondo demonstration groups and their achievements, Take a look at how children's Taekwondo demonstration groups are paving the way for Taekwondo demonstration.
In other words, the purpose of this study is to suggest the new direction that gives assistance to the development and qualitative improvement of future Taekwondo demonstration and strengthens the basis of Taekwondo culture progress.
To accomplish our purpose of this study, We utilized literature research, interview, photograph analysis. And to organize the resources systematically, the history of Taekwondo demonstration was assorted to 3 period.
In this study, the entire history of children's Taekwondo demonstration groups is very extensive. So the focus of its study was limited Namdaemun elementary school -was selected for the national Taekwondo demonstration team, Midong elementary school, Sindorim elementary school that have a historical significance as the children's Taekwondo demonstration group.
This study mainly consists of its state of activities and roles. That's why there is a limits for applying to the segmentalized analysis of the entire history of Taekwondo demonstration.
As a result of this study, We might draw a conclusion as follows.

First, At the quickening period(1967~1985), In 1967, A children's Taekwondo demonstration group was established by Namdaemun elementary school for the first time. After that, Some children's Taekwondo demonstration groups were established by Midong elementary school(1973) and Sindorim elementary school(1978). As the foreign honored guests and sports celebrities visited Korea, by giving the Taekwondo demonstration, Taekwondo was well known both at domestic and overseas.
At the quickening period, The children's Taekwondo demonstration groups went to the overseas demonstration frequently. And through the overseas demonstration, they had done a great job in boosting national prestige.

Second, In the leaping period(1986~1999), The children's Taekwondo demonstration groups had enhanced national prestige through more vigorous activities than the quickening period.
Especially, The opening event of Seoul Asian Games (1986) peformed with the theme 'The Bound' was the excellent example of the demonstration history of children's Taekwondo. Since then, Taekwondo made its debut as a demonstration Olympic sport at the 1988 Seoul Games. Taekwondo mass game perfomed with the theme 'Breaking down the walls' surprised whole world and the performance was applauded by the audience for its great job.
In 1990's, The children's Taekwondo demonstration groups have started to make headway into the Communist bloc countries and interchanged actively.
Also, They introduced the excellence and diversity of Korean culture to the Communist bloc countries upgraded its commanding position as the birthplace of Taekwondo.

Last, In the period of development(2000~the present), Taekwondo became an official medal sport at the 2000 Sydney Games and remains the permanent Olympic official medal sport until 2020 Olympic Games.
Accordingly, the whole world recognized the excellence of Taekwondo and the status of Korea as the birthplace of Taekwondo was raised rapidly.
In 1992, Korea Taekwondo Association(KTA) held Taekwondo Hanmadang Games and Poomsae, the part of the demonstration sport, became a match.
In 2000, the host of Taekwondo Hanmadang Games has been transferred from KTA to Kukkiwon, World Taekwondo Headquarters. Also the name of Taekwondo Hanmadang Games was changed into World Taekwondo Hanmadang and it was held in the U.S for the first time in 2003.
As Poomsae that is the part of the demonstration sport became a match through Taekwondo Hanmadang Games, all sorts of Poomsae games was held at the domestic and overseas. Consequently, Poomsae was adopted as an official medal sport at 2006 World Poomsae Championships and 2009 Summer Universiade. Also lots of demonstration game which was standardized such as Gyeockpa wang Games organized by KTA(2009) and World demonstration Games organized by Kukkiwon(2009) was created.
The forms of demonstration were changed variously as Taekwondo demonstration became internationalization and globalization.
Taekwondo was transformed into artistic forms seasoned with extreme. In accordance with changes, the shapes of the children's Taekwondo demonstration groups have been changed properly. By leading the van in the development of various contents and tourist attraction, they play an important part as a private diplomatic delegation.

The growth and development of Taekwondo is the most urgent issue in the way that Taekwondo became an official medal sport and is growing as a global sport.
The prospect of Taekwondo might be the development of Taekwondo demonstration. Through Taekwondo demonstration, the excellence of Taekwondo as a form of Korean culture have been widely known.
Accordingly, By training of talented person through vigorous activities of Taekwondo demonstration and developing Taekwondo as a contents and a nation brand, the prospect of Taekwondo might be hopeful.
