This study is aimed to retrieve determinant factors in performances, to analyze the priority and to develop evaluation model using Delphi survey and AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) for investigating the influential determinant factors in kumdo performances.
To accomplish the research goal, first, the influential determinant factors in kumdo were retrieved using Delphi survey; second, a conceptualization of the retrieved the determinant factors was made through structure validation; third, priority of determinant factors in kumdo performances was analyzed using AHP; fourth, an evaluation model of determinant factors in performances was verified.
The research objective was chosen as 357 peoples to analyze structure validation and the priority of determinant factors in kumdo performances, and to verify an evaluation model. Five professors currently affiliated to departments of sport, martial arts and security were chosen to retrieve the determinant factors for kumdo performances. Thirty two sports related department professors, doctors in sports studies, master degree and seven 7 dan in kumdo were selected to analyze the detailed determinant factors. One hundred twenty semi-pro kumdo athletes were chosen for an exploratory factor analysis. Two hundred college athletes were selected for a confirmatory factor analysis. And the thirty two personnels who participated in Delphi analysis were selected again for analysis of the determinant factors' priority in performances. The confirmatory data of conceptual structure was used for validity verification of evaluation model development.
To retrieve the influential determinant factors in performances using Delphi, selective response questions, structured response questions, open-ended response questions were mixed and provided. Frequency analysis, mean, standard deviation, contents validity, convergence, mutual validity were obtained using Excel and SPSS 19.0.
A conceptual verification of the developed measurement tool based on Delphi was used SPSS 19.0 for exploratory factor analysis and AMOS 19.0 for confirmatory factor analysis. A response question for stratification analysis to analyze the priority according to the significances of finally retrieved determinant factors was made as a comparative type for each factor of 9 points ratio scale and carried out by EC(Expert Choice) 2000 program.
The research outcomes after the research method and processes are as follows.
First, there were eight factors - fitness, instructor, skill, psychology, training method, self management, environment, and strategies - and 38 detail factors were finally retrieved as the determinant factors in kumdo performances using Delphi survey.
Second, there were seven factors finally conceptualized - skill, instructor, strategy /self - management, environment, fitness, psychology, and training - 31 detail factors.
Third, the goodness of fit verification was appeared as satisfying level and moreover the loadage was appeared as over the standard to confirm as a structure model.
Fourth, the priority of the determinant factors in performances using AHP were appeared as the following order; instructor, strategy/self-management, psychology, training, skill, fitness, and environment significantly. After a detailed analysis on the determinant factors, it is appeared that instructor's scientific instruction factor in instructor's factor, concentration in psychological factor, free practice in training factor, suneuisun(Debana Waza) in skill factor, power in fitness factor, team support in environment factor are important. Furthermore, after conclude the detail factors, instructor's scientific instruction, credibility to instructor, instructor's professional knowledge, and instructor's motivation factor were appeared in a higher important order, and cardio-respiratory endurance, muscle endurance, waist attack, and muscle strength were appeared in a lower important order.
Fifth, the total Cronbach's α was appeared as .901 which was high level to be verified the validity and this described that the validity of developed evaluation model was obtained.
To retrieve the determinant factors in kumdo performances through Delphi survey was possible and the determinant factors were conceptualized through structure verification. Furthermore, an analysis of the priority according to the significances of influential determinant factors for promotion of kumdo performances using AHP was accomplished and an evaluation model was confirmed through validity verification.
Therefore, it is thought that this research outcome can be utilized as a foundational material for players' performance promotion providing educational tool and strategic programs for instructors and players through the evaluation model of this study.
