This paper searched for a teaching plan utilizing world cultural heritage for historic site inquiries and history classes in line with the basic inquiry course of the middle school 『History』education utilized in classes of the field since 2013 in association with the goal of the history curriculum education. This plays a role that enables not history itself as simple records or facts but history education vital and emphasizing cultural experiences and imagination. In particular, the current 'historic area of Istanbul' is showing the peaceful tolerance spirit of the Osman Turk Empire that recognized other cultural and religious diversity to us and students living in the pluralistic and multicultural era through world cultural heritage. In this connection, this paper prepared for an educational strategy related to the middle school 『History』 curriculum focusing on cultural heritage, specially the world cultural heritage of the 'historic area of Istanbul' of Turkey.
In addition, in order to design its detailed educational strategy, it analyze the 2011 revised history curriculum and based on the contents, analyzed the description related to Istanbul in the 2013 middle school 『History』 textbook. First of all, the 2011 revised history curriculum emphasizes the field experience composed of cultural creature inquiries and storytelling focusing on political history and cultural history but does not suggest a concrete method. Furthermore, the 2013 middle school 『History』 textbooks composed separate themes for the courses to experience and inquire the historic area of Istanbul but most of the textbooks does not provide the description of cultural heritage organically linking with the phases of the times but ends with suggestions of simple lists as only a creature of the specific times.
Therefore, this paper suggested a descriptive method of textbooks to make an organic description of the political and cultural history of the Osman Turk Empire. The concrete descriptive method is the description to understand the history of the Osman Turk Empire by connecting the world cultural heritage of Istanbul with a peaceful code. In particular, it selected four pieces of representative world cultural heritage of the 'historic area of Istanbul' and suggested a concrete description for tolerance, reconciliation, harmony and acceptance as the peaceful code. The first is the Ayasofya Museum as tolerance and co-existence. The, the second is Grand Bazaar that is the code of harmony. The third is Suleymaniye Mosque as the code of reconciliation. At last, as for the fourth the Dolmabahce Saray was described as the code of exchange and acceptance. In addition, based on the textbook description, it finally suggested a teaching plan of the Istanbul imaginary inquiry role play with the themes of tolerance, reconciliation, harmony and harmony as the peaceful codes of the history of the Osman Turk Empire for the world cultural heritage of the 'historic area of Istanbul'.
The world history area is a subject to indirectly experience the vivid life of human beings so that the world history textbooks should be composed of various inquiry data with ease and fun and even in the learning activity, it should emphasize the intellectual spirit of inquiry `and imagination of learners. Accordingly, instead of a simple list of introduction to world cultural heritage, studies on teaching plans and tools to lead to imagination to the past people's concrete life should be made actively.
Furthermore, a composition system and descriptive contents that enable students to correctly see the history related to world cultural heritage in textbooks are required. The current textbooks have less common elements to connect history with cultural heritage due to a dual structure that considers them separately. It seems like independent studies in each area from separation of history and cultural heritage. The development of a descriptive method of textbooks that can see history and cultural heritage organically from a further comprehensive viewpoint should be prepared.
