      The purpose of this study is to investigate a change of attitude toward science of high school students and their perception on STEAM education program, as a result of teaching⋅learning activities by developing and applying STEAM education program to teach students science effectively in creative activities of high school.
      According to the procedure of Preparation, Development, Evaluation, Improvement, 'STEAM education program themed of stirling engine' was developed. In Preparation step, learners, the information needed for developing the program was collected by analyzing school conditions and STEAM curriculum. In Development step, selection of topics and learning objectives, evaluation plans, content configuration, a guidance plan and activity sheets suitable for STEAM education were created based on the information collected in Preparation step. In Evaluation step, the validity of the program was verified by the experts(experienced science teachers, science education scholars) review. In Improvement step, the program was modified and complemented on the basis of the results of evaluation.
      STEAM education program theme of Stirling engine developed in this study was applied to 243 male students in 10th grade in creative activities in high school six times for six weeks and the following results were obtained.
      First, a variety of student activities were done through teaching⋅learning activities. As a result of producing Stirling engine, Stirling engine was continuously worked well in the 17 teams of a total of 30 teams. Looking at the 13 team which Stirling engine was not worked, there were 7 cases of idling a flywheel because it didn't fix in a crankshaft, this was the most common cases.
      Second, STEAM education program theme of Stirling engine developed in this study give a positive impact on a change of attitude toward science of high school students. It had a greatest impact on pleasure on science of sub-categories of the attitude toward science and affected scientific attitude acceptance, scientific inquiry attitude in order.
      Third, high school students' perception on STEAM education program was generally positive in four areas such as motivation, contents, help, satisfaction.
      In this study, theme oriented STEAM education program available in creative activities and the after school hours was developed and applied. The research for the development of curriculum oriented STEAM education program operable in curriculum time need to be made. In addition, As a subsequent study, qualitative research and a study of the effect of STEAM education program on students' creativity and problem solving are required.
