아동이 지각한 사회적 지지와 주관적 안녕감의 관계에서 성격강점의 매개효과 : 지역아동센터를 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 지역아동센터를 이용하고 있는 아동의 주관적 안녕감에 영향을 미치는 내적·외적 변인들의 관련성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 아동의 외적 변인으로 사회적 지지를, 내적 변인으로 성격강점을 선정하여 이 변인들 간의 관계를 살펴보았다. 또한 아동의 사회적 지지와 주관적 안녕감의 관계에서 성격강점이 매개효과가 있는지를 검증하여, 아동의 문제행동 치료와 부적응을 넘어서 긍정정서인 자신의 성격강점을 발견하고 활용함으로써 주관적 안녕감 증진에 실천적 방안을 제시하고자 한다.
이러한 목적을 위하여 서울 소재 3개구 지역아동센터 60여 곳을 선정하여 초등학교 5,6학년 아동을 대상으로 250부의 설문지를 배부하여 이 중 유효한 232부를 자료 분석에 이용하였다. 본 연구에서는 다음과 같은 측정도구를 사용하였다. 아동의 사회적 지지의 정도를 알아보기 위하여 한미현(1996)과 박지원(1985)이 종합하여 사용한 것을 이혜경(2007)이 재구성한 척도를 사용하였다. 또한 아동의 주관적 안녕감 측정을 위해 박병기와 홍승표(2004)의 척도를 수정·축소·보완하여 이소현(2009)이 재구성 한 것을 본 연구의 관련주제에 합당하게 재구성하여 사용하였다. 성격강점은 Martin E. P. Seligman의 VIA Strength Survey Children를 김인자(2009)가 번역한 척도를 사용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 18.0과 AMOS 20.0 통계 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다.
본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 사회적 지지와 성격강점, 아동의 주관적 안녕감 간에는 유의미한 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 변수 전체를 대상으로 상관분석한 결과 사회적 지지와 성격강점은 유의미한 정적 상관을 보였으며, 사회적 지지와 성격강점은 아동의 주관적 안녕감에도 유의한 정적 상관을 보였다. 이러한 연구결과는 지역아동센터를 이용하는 아동이 사회적 지지를 많이 받을수록 자신의 성격강점을 인식하고 주관적 안녕감이 증가함을 나타낸다. 따라서 사회적 취약 계층인 지역아동센터 이용 아동의 주관적 안녕감을 높이기 위해서는 충분한 사회적 지지를 제공하고 자신의 성격강점 인식을 높일 수 있도록 관심과 도움을 주어야 함을 시사한다.
둘째, 지역아동센터 이용 아동의 사회적 지지와 주관적 안녕감의 관계에서 성격강점의 매개효과를 검증한 결과, 사회적 지지가 아동의 주관적 안녕감에 직·간접적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 즉 사회적 지지는 아동의 주관적 안녕감에 직접적인 영향을 주기도 하지만, 매개변인인 성격강점을 통해 간접적으로 주관적 안녕감에 영향을 주기도 한다. 그러므로 성격강점은 사회적 지지와 주관적 안녕감의 관계에서 부분적으로 매개역할을 한다고 결론 내릴 수 있다.
이상의 연구 결과들을 종합해 보면, 지역아동센터 이용 아동의 사회적 지지와 성격강점이 주관적 안녕감에 관련된 변인임을 확인하였다. 또한 성격강점이 환경적 요인으로 심리·정서적 어려움에 직면할 수 있는 지역아동센터 이용 아동의 삶의 만족과 안녕감을 높일 수 있는 중요한 변인으로 나타났다. 그러므로 본 연구를 통하여 청소년기로 접어드는 발달시점에 있는 학령후기 아동에게 자신의 성격강점을 탐색하고 활용 할 수 있도록 관심을 가지고, 성격강점 관련 프로그램 개발 및 주관적 안녕감 향상을 위한 상담적 접근과 교육을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 데 의의가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research was willing to search the relates of inner and outer factors effected on children’s subjective well-being who are using community child center. For this, I Iooked into the relates of factors after choosing the social supports as child’s outer factors and power of characters as inner factors. Also, when it comes of the relates between a child’s social supports and subjective well-being I verify the power of characters have meditated effects so I suggest practical ways for improving subjective well-being by finding their strengths of characters and using them as positive emotion over the cure for child’s problematic behaviors and mal adjustments.
  For these purpose I chose 60 community-child-centers in three gu in Seoul and distributes 250 sheets of questionnaire for elementary fifth and sixth grade students. Among them, 232 sheets available are used as analyzed data. In this research these tools for searching are used, For knowing the limits of child’s social supports, I used the data used by Han Mi-Hyeon and Park Ji-Won in 1996 and restructured by Lee Hye-Gyeong in 2007. Also, for measuring child’s subjective well-being, I used data by Lee So-Hyeon in 2009 restructured the data by Park Byeong-Gi and Hong Seung-Pyo in 2004 suitably at this research. For the strength of character I used data Martin E. P. Seligman’s VIA Strength Survey Children translated by Kim In-Ja in 2006 and collect the data. The collected data is analyzed by using statistic program, SPSS 18.0 AMOS 20.0.
The result of research is as follows.
  First, there’s meaningful positive relates among social supports, strength of characters and child’s subjective well-being. As a result of correlation analysis of all variable factors, Social supports and strength of characters show meaningful  positive relationship and social supports and strength of characters shows positive relationship at child’s subjective well-being. These results of research shows that when children who use community child center get many social supports, they know their strength of the characters and improve their subjective well-being. Thus, for improving subjective well-being of children who using community child center as vulnerable social group, it implies that they should give them enough social supports, care and help for improving the knowledge of their own strength of characters.
Second, as a result of verify meditated effects of strength of characters when it comes to social supports and subjective well-being of children who use community child center, social supports effects directly and indirectly on children’s subjective well-being. That means social supports not only effects directly on children’s subjective well-being but also effects indirectly on subjective well- being through the factors of strength of the characters. Thus, I can conclude that the power of character partially roles each part at the relation between social support and subjective well-being.
  To sum up this research, I confirmed that social supports and power of character for child of community child center are related factors for subjective well-being. Also, power of characters is a crucial environmental factor for improving satisfaction and well-being who can be faced on mental and emotional difficulties. Thus, through this research, children of post-school age who is expecting adolescents needs attention to find out their own power of characters and to use them and threre’s a meaning as giving a base line data for developing program related to power of character and improving subjective well-being.
