노인 자원봉사활동 참여 동기유형과 자원봉사활동 만족도가 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of Participation Motive and Satisfaction Level of the Volunteer Activities on the Life Satisfaction of the Elderly

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 노인들의 자원봉사활동 참여 동기를 알아보고 은퇴이후의 노인들의 자원봉사 동기가 노후생활 만족도에 미치는 영향을 분석하여 봄으로써, 노인들이 은퇴 후에 자원봉사활동에 적극적으로 참여하는데 도움을 주고, 보다 만족스러운 노후생활을 보낼 수 있는 방법을 제안하는데 그 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 경기도 고양 및 파주지역의 노인복지관, 건강가정지원센터, 실버경찰대에서 활동 중인 60세 이상의 자원봉사자들을 대상으로 설문하여 분석에 사용하였고, 수집된 설문지의 통계적 분석으로는 회수된 유효표본 297부를 가지고 SPSS Win Ver.18.0 Program을 이용하여 빈도분석, 요인분석, 그리고 회귀분석 등을 사용하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 자원봉사활동 참여 동기는 자아실현, 사회적 활동, 사회적 책임감, 그리고 개인성취의 네 가지 유형으로 분류되었다.
둘째, 인구사회학적 특성에 따른 자원봉사활동 참여 동기차이를 분석한 결과 성별과 자녀동거 여부를 제외한 나머지 모든 변인에서 유의값이 나타나 동기유형별 차이를 보였으며, 자원봉사활동 만족도 차이분석에서는 월소득과 종교, 자녀동거 여부, 건강상태, 경제능력에서 차이를 보였다. 삶의 만족도와의 차이 분석에서는 성별, 종교, 자녀동거 여부를 제외한 나머지 모든 변인에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다.
셋째, 인구사회학적 특성이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과 소득과, 건강상태, 그리고 경제능력에서 통계적 유의값이 나와 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치고 있었고, 자원봉사활동 참여 동기가 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향분석에서는 모든 요인에서 유의값이 나타나 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인 하였다. 또한 자원봉사활동 만족도에서도 통계적 유의값이 나타나 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났다.


The purpose of this study is to find out the motivation of the elderly for participating in volunteer activities, and by analyzing the effects of elderly motivation for volunteering on the level of satisfaction for aged living, to help the elderly actively participate in volunteer activities after retirement and propose ways for the elderly to lead a more satisfying aged living. To this end, survey was conducted with elderly people over 60-years-old who are engaged in voluntary service at senior welfare centers, healthy home support centers, and silver patrol teams in Goyang and Paju area in Gyeonggido. 297 valid survey responses were collected and used in the statistical analysis, which included frequency analysis, factor analysis and regression analysis using the SPSS Win Ver.18.0 Program. The results from the analysis were as follows:
First, four types of motivation for participating in volunteer activities were identified; self-realization, social activities, social responsibility, and personal achievement.
Second, according to the analysis of difference in the motivation for participating in volunteer activities depending on demographic characteristics, all variables except for gender and cohabitation with children resulted in significant values indicating significant difference by types of motivation. As for the analysis of difference in the satisfaction level for volunteer activities, difference was found in variables such as monthly income and religion, cohabitation with children, health status, and economic ability. Analyzing the difference in life satisfaction, statistically significant differences were found in all variables except for gender, religion, and cohabitation with children.
Third, according to the analysis of the effects of demographic characteristics on life satisfaction, statistically significant value was drawn from income, health status, and economic ability, indicating that these factors influence life satisfaction. As for the analysis of the effects of motivation for participating in volunteer activities on life satisfaction, all factors resulted in significant values, confirming that motivation for participating in volunteer activities influence life satisfaction. Results also yielded significant value in volunteer activity satisfaction level, indicating that this factor influence life satisfaction. In particular, in the relation between volunteer activity satisfaction level and life satisfaction, the explanatory power as a whole yielded high value, suggesting that satisfaction level from volunteer activities is significantly influential to life satisfaction.
