The purpose of present study is to examine the moderating effect of self -compassion, ego-resilience between perceived stress and psychological well-being. The participants were 395 college and graduate students(177 males, 218 females) in Gyeongsangnam-do. They were administered the Self-Compassion Scale(SCS), the Ego-Resiliency Scale(ERS), the Perceived Stress Scale(PSS), and the Psychological Well-Being Scale(PWBS). The results showed significant moderating effects of self-judgment(self-compassion subtype) and optimism, activity(ego-resiliency subtype) on the relation between perceived stress and psychological well-being. In particular, the effect of self-judgment, optimism, activity enhancement on the promotion of psychological well-being were greater group with perceived stress than the group without perceived stress. Based on these findings, it was suggested that, high levels of perceived stress is important in the promotion of positive psychological variables
