지역사회의 특성이 비행친구와 비행에 미치는 영향연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

비행청소년은 성인범죄자로 발전될 가능성이 높다. 일반적으로 청소년들은 주변 환경과 인적관계의 영향을 받으며 급격하게 사회화를 겪게 된다. 최근까지 청소년비행 연구들은 친구, 부모요인과 같은 미시수준의 요인들에 집중되어 연구됐다. 그러나 미시수준뿐만 아니라 거시수준의 환경적 요인도 고려해야 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 지역사회의 기능과 구조(거시수준)가 비행과 비행친구(미시수준)에 미치는 영향을 검증하고자 시도했다.
지역사회의 구조적 특성은 공식통계자료에서 기초생활수급자 비율, 인구이동률, 이혼율로 사용했다. 청소년패널조사(KYPS)에서 지역사회의 기능적 특성으로 지역사회의 유대와 비공식적 통제 사용했다. 한편, 이 연구의 독립변수로는 친구관계, 종속변수는 비행, 통제변수로 부모애착, 부모감독을 사용했다. 그리고 지역변수의 영향을 검증하기 위해 HLM 6.02가 사용됐다.
분석한 결과, 지역사회의 구조적 특성은 지역사회 유대와 비공식적 통제에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향이 없었다. 반면 구조적 특성 중 기초생활수급자 비율만 비행친구를 증가시키는 요인으로 나타났다. 한편 지역사회 유대는 비행을 억제했다. 또한 비행에 대한 지역사회의 유대 효과는 부모 감독의 효과만큼 중요했다.
종합하자면 청소년 비행을 효과적으로 통제하기 위해서 거시수준도 포함한 정책적인 접근이 필요하다. 특히 지역사회의 유대를 고려해야 한다. 예를 들어 청소년 비행 통제를 위해 지역주민 사이의 유대를 강화하는 프로그램을 발전시킬 필요가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Juvenile delinquents are likely to be developed into adult criminal. Generally, adolescents experiences rapidly socialization greatly influenced by their environments and social networks. Until recently the literature of juvenile delinquency has mainly focus on micro-level factors such as friends and parents factors. However, in the study of juvenile delinquency, we need also to consider environmental macro-level factors as well as micro-level factors. Therefore, this study attempted to examine the effect of community's function and structural characteristics(macro-level) on the relationships with delinquency peers and delinquency behaviors(micro-level).
The structural characteristics of community were measured by poverty rate, mobility rate, and divorce rate from the official statistics. The functional characteristics of the community were also measured by social bond and informal social control from the data of KYPS. In addition, the independent variable of this study in a micro-level was delinquent peers and the dependent variable is delinquency. Moreover, parents attachment and parents supervision were used as control variables. In order to examine the effect of community level variables, hierarchial linear regression model(HLM) were used.
The results have revealed that there are no statistically significant effects of structural characteristics of community on social bond and informal social control. Whereas poverty rate among structural characteristics showed a significant positive impact on delinquent peer relationships. Meanwhile, social bond has a negative effect on delinquency. Also the effect of social bond on delinquent behaviors is as important as the parent supervision's impact.
In sum, it is necessary to consider macro-level factors in order to develop an effective policy measure for juvenile delinquency. Specially, social bond should be considered. For example, we need to develop a program strengthening ties with local residents in order to control juvenile delinquency.
